Meteora Small Group Hiking tour with Transfer and Monastery Visit

Tapeesh_R, Oct 2026

Do it!

Fantabulous experience in Meteora! The hike was beautiful, well-paced, and one of the highlights of my trip. A special mention to our guide, Chris, who was fantastic — extremely knowledgeable, authentic, engaging, and clearly passionate about Meteora, its history, monasteries, and the landscape. He made the experience much more meaningful than simply walking through the area on our own. I also really appreciated the flexibility with the pickup and drop-off points, which made the whole experience very convenient. Overall, a wonderful hike, great organization, and an excellent guide. Highly recommended if you want to experience Meteora beyond just visiting the viewpoints and monasteries by road.

Meteora Sunset E-Bike Tour

Beautiful scenery and fun!

Got to see so much more since on e-bikes. Lots of photo stops. Provided water and safety was a priority. The bikes did a great job with the “hills”. Great guide. I will admit a little tougher than I thought but we’re in our late 60’s and not the fittest people you’ve ever seen. We still made it though and glad we tried.

Marvelous Meteora

We absolutely loved this tour. Our guide, Chris, was knowledgeable, friendly, and very relatable. He spent a lot of time explaining the history of the area, and was able to answer every question we had. We felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend when it ended. We had so much fun. The ride was easy, the bikes were comfortable and high quality, and the weather was perfect. So much better than being trapped in a bus. You get fresh air, and a genuine, immersive experience. I can't recommend this enough. We LOVE this place.

We had a wonderful time...

We had a wonderful time with our guide, Pannos. He was knowledgeable and had a great personality! We loved all the sights he took us to see and the stories he told about each one. We would highly recommend Viator and have nothing but positive things to say about Pannos. He is a credit to your company!

Meteora: Morning Half Day Sightseeing and Monasteries Tour

Evette_R, July 2026

Excellent Tour!!!!

Fabulous experience. Our guide was polite, funny, informative and easy to understand (we are Americans). The trip was just the right length of time. They picked us up on time and even offered to drop us off anywhere on the way back, or at our hotel. I wish I remembered our guide and driver’s names. They were great! Cannot recommend either more highly!

Awe Inspiring Day Trip

I had never heard of these monasteries before researching must see things to do in the Athens area. This excursion became one of the highlights of our trip. Neither my husband nor I are religious people but the artwork in the churches located in these monasteries filled us with awe. Our guide and driver (Maria and George) were delightful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this day trip.

Once in a lifetime excursion

It is a long day but well-organized. Up and out early and a classic Greek delayed return. Still well worth the time. A must see on the UNESCO tours in this lifetime. Breathtaking views, classically adorned monasteries, and a rich history make this day away from Athens a great idea.

Meteora All Monasteries Tour with Photo Stops

Wonderful tour with Lena and Crazy Nikos!

We had a tour with our guide Lena and our driver Crazy Nikos! What a terrific tour from two wonderful guides. We were very fortunate to be the only couple so we got a private tour. We visited three monasteries and many viewing points and got many great photos. Lena was extremely knowledgeable about the history and religious importance of Meteora and made sure we knew everything about each monastery we visited to maximize the time we had there. She also included some visits to views that were away from the crowds. In addition to driving, Nikos helped take some amazing photos! We were especially pleased that Lena and Nikos adjusted our tour to allow for my wife’s mobility issue. All in all this was a great experience and would highly recommend. Ask for Nikos and Lena specifically!

Authentic and personal experience

Chris was truly exceptional. With deep local knowledge, he showed us places we would have never discovered on our own. What really sets him apart, though, is his genuine warmth—you don’t feel like a tourist, but like a welcomed guest. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and personal experience!

2-days rail trip from Athens to Meteora

Noemi_C, Nov 2025

Seeing Meteora through the eyes of native born and raised guides.

There some unexpected issues such as the train strike that affected our return by train but the company handled everything for us, kept us infirmaded all the time, offered options, and got us the return bus tickets. Besides that everything was great! The guides Vasilis and Chris were a well of information, history, and curiosities. The small group tour is a wonderful way to go and my utmost recommendation. We had 3 tourists in the tour with Vasilis and just 2 of us with Chris (the guide) on the second day. The place is amazing and worth of every moment there. We stayed for 1 night, but if I ever come back, I will sure extend the trip for at least one more day, and do a couple of the hikes. We visited all the 6 monasteries that are still open, unfortunately I was only able to climb the steps to 3 of them...there are tons of them but my knees don't like them very much mowadays :-( . However, I still enjoyed the experience as much as if I had climbed. The paths, the views, the little hidden peak-a-boo perspective has lots to offer. I highly recommend Meteora Rocks to anyone planning to visit Meteora.
