Better than great!
We were 20 minutes late, based on cell coverage dying as we were at lunch, so we were super stressed getting to our meet- up location. Christian met us with a smile and “no stress” vibe. We drive 15 minutes to the river drop in, and the fun started! We had a great time traversing about 10 sets of rapids, having great fun, but never feeling unsafe. At the end, we were greeted with fruit, water and a dry towel….what else could you ask for? Great guide, great experience…..highly recommend!

Best tour for the lowest price!!
This was such an amazing tour, the instructor, Alonso, was extremely knowledgeable about the river and his country. He made the experience so welcoming and was a fantastic teacher. We had a great time tubing, the rapids weren’t super crazy so it would definitely be good for families. The color of the Rio Celeste is absolutely insane, I’ve never seen a color so beautiful! 10/10, I’m definitely booking with them on my next trip out here!

Oscar was a great guide! He is so knowledgeable and very patient! It was an absolutely beautiful hike! It is definitely a moderate to strenuous hike with lots of steps. Wear hiking boots and use bug spray.

Over 1 hr 20 min ride to the rio celeste. Driver was driving quite fast on curvy mountain roads, started to make us motion sick. Van could use a little TLC as well. Our guide, Anne was awesome, very informative and overall pleasant experience on the hike. Swimming and lunch was great, good trip and highly recommended minus the gran turismo driving.

Costa Rica Ecosystem UP Close!
We had a fabulous excursion with Johan as our guide to the waterfall and Fernando showed us amazing wildlife (sloths, viper snakes, etc). It was an educational day and a great way to explore the ecosystem of Costa Rica. Highly recommend!

Amazing Day!
We had an amazing tour with our guide, Dayro! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and great at spotting wildlife we would have missed on our own.
Rio Celeste Waterfall was stunning, and the Sloths and Wildlife Sanctuary was a highlight. We saw eyelash viper snakes, a tree frog, and even an anteater!
The van was very comfortable for the long ride, and the food was great as well.
Highly recommend this tour—Dayro made our tour unforgettable.

When to visit

There is an admission fee to enter the Tenorio Volcano National Park and visitor numbers are limited, so it’s best to arrive early.
The trail to the waterfall is 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) round-trip, and hiking to the waterfall takes about an hour.
A raincoat and sturdy shoes with a good grip are essential, as rain is common even in the dry season. The trails are unpaved and can get extremely muddy.
Restrooms, a restaurant, and a car park are located at the entrance to the national park.
