Travelers come to Athens to experience the ancient city’s culture and history, but most only get a sanitized view. Get an unfiltered perspective of the Greek capital on this walking tour that focuses on horror stories, dark mythology, and all things spooky. Your storyteller guide leads your group of adults—and teens, with parental consent—through the central city, in the shadow of the Acropolis, and shares some truly frightful tales.

Learn to make real Greek food and enjoy dinner with a view on this small-group cooking class in Athens. Head to a much-loved eatery in vibrant Monastiraki and learn how to make traditional Greek dishes, from tzatziki to spinach pie, with hands-on guidance from an experienced chef. Then, when the food is ready, head up to the roof to enjoy the fruits of your labor with views over the Acropolis.

Most Athens tours walk you past the ruins of its ancient democracy without letting you take part in how it worked. This small-group workshop does the opposite, heading to the Pnyx—the hill where the Athenian Assembly once met—to recreate the debating and voting of classical Athens through dialogues, role-play, and team games. A facilitator with a background in Classical Studies leads the session, covering both the strengths and the flaws of the system.
