Arusha to Moshi

Escape into the heart of Tanzania with an unforgettable day trip that perfectly blends breathtaking nature and rich culture. First, you'll hike through the lush foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to the spectacular, 90-meter Materuni Waterfalls, where you can swim in crystal clear glacier waters and craft your own artisan coffee with the welcoming Chagga people. Then, journey down to the sun baked African plains to step inside an authentic Maasai Village. Here, you will be welcomed by vibrant warrior songs, witness the famous high jumping Adumu dance, and learn ancient survival skills straight from the tribe.

Our Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour stands out because we offer a unique combination of natural beauty and cultural immersion. Travelers not only get to hike to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls but also experience an authentic, hands-on coffee-making process with the local Chagga community. The tour is led by knowledgeable guides who provide insights into the region's culture, history, and flora. Plus, the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro (when visible) add a spectacular touch to the experience. We focus on providing a personal and sustainable experience that supports the local community while giving travelers unforgettable memories.

Discover the beauty of Tanzania beyond its wildlife parks on this private tour. Take a hike to Materuni Falls where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in its natural pools. Then, visit a local coffee farm to see how the drink is made from bean to cup. Finally, relax your weary muscles in the warm waters of the Kikuletwa hot springs and enjoy a fish pedicure.

This magnificent waterfall, one of the tallest in the region, cascades crystal-clear glacial water from a height of 70 meters into its basin. The scenic path to Materuni Waterfall, situated 2500 meters above sea level, winds through valleys and hills shrouded in tropical rainforest, alongside coffee, banana, and avocado "shambas"—the Kiswahili term for farms. After enjoying a local lunch, you will depart for the Chemka Hot Springs. We will pick you up from Materuni post-lunch and transport you to the Chemka Hot Springs. The journey to the Hot Springs is on a very bumpy and winding road, making the drive last over 40 minutes. Upon arrival at the Hot Springs, you have the opportunity to swim, unwind, have your lunch, and bask in the sunshine. Should you wish, we can prepare a barbecue for you while you swim. For groups booking this tour with more than 10 participants, a reasonable discount is offered per group.

Experience the stunning beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro on a Lemosho Day Trip, designed for adventurers seeking a taste of Africa’s highest peak without a full summit attempt. As you ascend to the Shira Plateau, enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding landscapes. Walk with a local guide through Materuni village and its green hills to the waterfall, then join a hands-on Chagga coffee experience, from roasting and grinding the beans to tasting your freshly brewed cup. Enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch before heading to Chemka, also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs, for an optional swim or time to relax in the shade. Travel with your own group and a Gosheni Safaris driver-guide, with round-trip Arusha hotel transport, the listed entrance fees, coffee tasting, lunch and drinking water included. You leave Arusha early and drive to Londorossi Gate on the quiet western side of the mountain, then continue by 4x4 through rainforest and heather up onto the plateau. With a licensed mountain guide you hike for 3 to 4 hours across moorland dotted with giant groundsels and volcanic rock, towards the Shira Cathedral and Shira Camp, used by climbers on the Lemosho and Machame routes. It is a great choice if you want a taste of Kilimanjaro, or to acclimatize before a climb. A picnic lunch is served on the plateau. Park fees, rescue fees, lunch, water and private transport are all included. Good fitness is needed, as the altitude makes the walk harder than it looks.
