Throughout the day, I will also teach you about the Meru tribal culture and history. The small donation that we ask for goes 100% directly to our children, families, and programs. From your donation, $10 can pay for art supplies for a class at the daycare. $25 can feed one of our children for two weeks. $75 helps a family start a business. $200 covers all of the living costs for a child for a month in residential care. About 250,000 years ago, a massive volcanic eruption blew away the entire eastern flank of the mountain and left it with the distinctive appearance it has today. The Mount Meru ascent passes through many vegetation zones. The dry forest of the lower region changes to a dense mountain rainforest, which then turns into scrub land.
