Craft a little piece of Kyoto to take home with you. Step into our Gion workshop and turn a simple piece of wood into your own handcrafted Japanese chopsticks. You’ll work with traditional tools to shape and smooth your chopsticks by hand, while our instructors guide you through the process from start to finish. It’s easy to follow, satisfying to make, and no crafting experience is required. Want to make them even more special? Personalize your chopsticks with an optional engraving of your name, initials, or favorite word. At the end, you’ll walk away with more than just a souvenir — you’ll have something useful, personal, and made entirely by you. A relaxing and creative experience to enjoy during your time in Kyoto, whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, with friends, or with family.

Instead of simply buying souvenir chopsticks, create a pair that is truly your own. Choose your favorite from a variety of beautiful woods, each with its own unique color, grain, and character. Using a traditional Japanese “kanna” hand plane, you’ll shape your chopsticks from scratch, smooth the surface by hand, and finish them with natural oil under the guidance of the instructor. For an even more personal touch, you can optionally engrave your name or a special message on the ends of your chopsticks, creating a one-of-a-kind souvenir from your time in Japan. More than just something to take home, you’ll leave with a pair of chopsticks you crafted yourself—and the memory of making them.

Create a ring that no one else in the world has. Discover a collection of vintage coins from different countries and eras, pick the one that speaks to you, and turn it into your very own ring. You’ll experience the entire process yourself — working with professional tools to shape the coin, form the ring, and add the finishing touches. Our instructors will be there to guide you throughout, so it’s perfect even if you’ve never made jewelry before. Every coin is different, which means every ring is different. The details and character of the original coin remain visible, giving your finished piece a look and story of its own. It’s more than something to buy in Kyoto — it’s something you create here. Take home a one-of-a-kind ring, made by you, and a memory of Kyoto you can wear wherever you go.

Make your own vintage coin ring in Kyoto. Looking for something different to do between temples, shrines, and sightseeing? Step into our workshop and create a piece of jewelry that’s completely your own. Start by exploring our selection of vintage coins and finding the design that catches your eye. From there, you’ll use real jewelry-making tools to gradually turn the coin into a wearable ring. Hammer it, shape it, size it, and finish it — our instructors will guide you through each step, so beginners are always welcome. The best part? You’re not simply choosing a souvenir from a shelf. You’re making it yourself, and no two rings will ever look exactly the same. Come for the experience, enjoy the process, and leave Kyoto wearing something you created yourself.
