Along the way, you’ll learn about Rhino behavior, tracking techniques, and the conservation efforts that brought these incredible animals back from extinction in Uganda. Once a Rhino group is located, you’ll observe them from a safe distance on foot—watching them graze, rest, or move through the grasslands. The silence, proximity, and raw presence of these giants make this a powerful, unforgettable moment. Ziwa is also home to other wildlife such as bushbucks, waterbucks, monkeys, and over 300 bird species, making it a well-rounded nature experience—even in just half a day.
