I joined this tour...
I joined this tour yesterday, and it was an amazing experience. My guide, Esteban, was outstanding. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the places we visited, and he shared interesting facts throughout the tour. The places were absolutely beautiful, and everything was very well organized. On top of that, Esteban is very good driver, which made the whole trip feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour.

Challenging, unforgettable, and unlike any other volcano experience
This was one of the highlights of my trip to Guatemala. Pacaya Volcano offers a unique opportunity to hike across relatively recent lava fields while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding volcanoes and countryside.
The hike was more physically demanding than I expected, especially under the midday sun. I made the mistake of forgetting my sunscreen, hat, and even my acetazolamide, so I underestimated how challenging the ascent would feel. Although I consider myself to be in good shape, I ultimately decided to take one of the horses for the climb up—and I’m glad I did. The horse handlers were experienced, and it allowed me to conserve energy to fully enjoy the volcano itself.
I was determined to hike the entire descent on foot, which turned out to be a rewarding experience. Walking down the volcanic ash and lava rock was challenging but a lot of fun, and my fitness tracker certainly agreed!
One of the most memorable parts of the tour was enjoying a freshly made vegetable pizza cooked using the volcano’s natural geothermal heat. It may sound like a gimmick, but it was surprisingly delicious and an experience I won’t forget.
Our guide was excellent—friendly, informative, and always focused on everyone’s safety. Transportation was comfortable, and the entire day was well organized.
My advice for future visitors: wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat, and don’t hesitate to use a horse if you feel you need one. There’s absolutely no shame in it, and it lets you focus on enjoying an incredible natural wonder.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Guatemala. It’s an adventure that’s both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

perfect combination of nature, culture, and history
This tour was an excellent way to experience two very different sides of Guatemala in a single day. Hobbitenango offered spectacular mountain views, creative Hobbit-themed attractions, and a peaceful atmosphere high above Antigua. Even if you’re not a fan of The Lord of the Rings, the scenery alone makes the visit worthwhile, with panoramic views of the surrounding volcanoes and valleys.
Afterward, we explored the beautiful colonial city of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking its cobblestone streets, visiting historic churches and plazas, and learning about the city’s fascinating history made for a wonderful contrast to the morning in the mountains. Antigua’s well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture and relaxed atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful cities in Central America.
Our guide was knowledgeable, organized, and enthusiastic, sharing interesting historical and cultural insights throughout the day while keeping the tour running smoothly. Transportation was comfortable, and there was enough free time to explore, take photos, browse local shops, and enjoy lunch.
Overall, this was a well-organized tour that combined stunning scenery, unique attractions, and Guatemala’s rich colonial heritage into one memorable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to make the most of a day outside Guatemala City.

Long day, but soooo worth it!
Long day, but completely worth it! Everything was well-planned and executed from start to finish. Herbert, our guide for the day was knowledgeable and patient with our group and we saw everything we needed to see. It’s a lot of walking, but mostly flat and when there are steps, there aren’t a lot of them and they’re on a small incline. You’ll definitely enjoy this tour!
I visited at the end of May, so it can rain in the afternoon, but we were done at two. I packed an umbrella, but didn’t have to use it. Do bring sunscreen and a hat! Lunch was after the tour at a local restaurant not too far away and I enjoyed everything they had prepared!
One piece of advice for the airport is the domestic entrance is hidden a bit. After checking in, you’ll go through sliding glass doors to get through security and through screening. When you go through the glass doors, go down the escalator and keep walking straight until you walk into the wall (almost) and the domestic line will be to your left. The other lines are for international and those signs are posted everywhere.

Antiqua
This is a worthwhile excursion. Antiqua is an interesting place with lots to see. Many of the old buildings have been converted into hotels and restaurants. Our tour guide, Davis, was outstanding, with lots of information and very clear speaking in his second language. A full day's adventure.

10 Star Experience!
We had a wonderful hiking tour and really enjoyed the whole experience.
Our driver Gustavo arrived about 10 minutes early to pick us up, which was great. He’s very funny and easy to talk to. He speaks Spanish, great English, German, and even a little Japanese. The ride was honestly a lot of fun.
Our tour guide Alan was also amazing. He’s very easygoing and informative. During the hike we chatted a lot and had some really great conversations. He was very patient, always checking on us, and encouraged us to take breaks when needed, which we really appreciated.
The views were absolutely breathtaking, with lots of great photo spots along the way. We also stopped midway to roast marshmallows over the volcanic heat, which was such a fun and unique experience. We were also lucky to have great weather that day.
Overall, it was an amazing experience — honestly a 10/10 for us.

Antigua Tour
The guide in Antigua was great. From Guatemala City to Antigua it was basically a shuttle.
Our guide once dropped off in Antigua was friendly, humorous & very knowledgeable. It ended up being a bilingual tour and he transitioned between Spanish & English perfectly.
Antigua is quaint & beautiful. Lots of churches!
I enjoyed the experience

Iximche and Antigua tour
What was supposed to be a small group tour became a private tour (my husband and I were the only passengers). Our guide, Davis, is very knowledgeable. We are seniors and he made sure to always walk at our pace, never trying to hurry us up. He explained, in great detail, the objects in the iximche museum and pointed out the birds, plants and other animals as we were walking through the ruins. In Antigua, it was nice walking the cobblestone streets while Davis pointed out the landmarks and narrated their history. Antigua is a beautiful place surrounded by volcanos and we witnessed Volcan de Fuego errupting and spewing black smoke. It was a very enjoyable tour. Iximche and Antigua are must sees if you are in Guatemala.

A great experience
Tikal was absolutely incredible! Our guide was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the history come alive. The site exceeded my expectations, with stunning temples, amazing wildlife, and my favorite—the unforgettable calls of the Howler Monkeys. We even climbed to the top for breathtaking photos. Lunch was delicious with a choice of protein, and while the weather was hotter than other parts of Guatemala, it was worth every moment. Highly recommend!
