The tour was well...
The tour was well organised and informative. Don’t expect to see any artefacts of the sunken city. The glass bottom boat had a two pares of bottom glass windows. Overall it was worthwhile to dedicate a day of our travel to see Turkey’s history.

Long but good day
We had a good day. This tour from Antalya involves a lot of travel. From pickup it was 4hrs to our first destination, Kekova. The boat trip to Kekova sunken city was lovely, however we really couldn't see anything of the ancient city under water. There was a stop for a 15min swim which some people enjoyed. Saint Nicholas' church was very nice and it was a lovely experience. The Lycian Tombs at Myra were also fabulous and something I really wanted to see. Our journey back to Antalya was another 3 hours. So whilst I'm glad we went, it is a long day.

For women traveling alone
Osman, our guide, and Engin, our driver, were superb and consummate gentlemen. For a woman traveling alone, their presence was a welcome relief from the constant burden of negotiating prices and managing unwanted, unsolicited attention masquerading as friendliness. Engin’s driving was seamless and instilled complete confidence throughout the journey. Osman is deeply knowledgeable and generous in the way he shares that knowledge, offering context without intrusion and insight without performance. The sites themselves are dreamlike, worthy of lifelong memories and photographs, and were made all the more meaningful by the care, professionalism, and respect with which this experience was conducted.

Kekova in July
Lovely drive along mountainous coastline. Relaxing boat trip but don't get to see as much of sunken Kekova as would have liked. You couldn't see anything through the glass in the boat. Interesting visits to St Nicholas church and stunning Myra.

Demre, Myra & Kekova
This was a good side trip from Antalya. Loved the ancient ruins, burial sites, etc around Demre and Myra. Boat ride to Kekova was very relaxing but couldn’t see much of the sunken city.

Beautiful trip, relaxed and comfortable
Really great trip and such awesome boat staff! We had unfortunate wind change and they made every effort to still make our trip amazing 🙌 food was amazing (and really proper food) views and stops are spectacular.
Tip for foreigners - rather ask to pay entrances in TL (cards are accepted) and take additional TL for souvenirs.
I have recommended this to all our friends and family and all have had amazing experiences.

Swim with giant turtles
A comfortable picked us up at a meeting point. With a large boat we visited beautiful places and experienced swimming with giant turtles caretta caretta. Only negative point is that we were always accompanied by another bigger boat with a lot of very noisy passengers.

Excellent long day out with so much to see and do
The trip to Myra itself was stunning and worth the journey in its own right. We had done a boat trip to Kekova before, but it was nice to travel from a different start location. The final stop at Turtle Bay was amazing to see turtles in the wild. The visit to St Nicholas's Church was probably not worth the entrance fee, but was interesting to see. The tour operator was very helpful despite the low number of us on the day.

Our guide Mehmet was awesome! Very knowledgeable and friendly. First day I couldn’t join because driver didn’t find my place but wasn’t Mehmet’s fault.

People Also Ask
What are the ruins of Myra in Turkey?
The ruins of Myra in Turkey are the archaeological remains of an ancient Lycian town, thought to date back around 2,500 years. Visitors come to this area to explore the open-air museum. Some of its highlights include rock tombs that have been carved into the cliffs, an acropolis, and a Roman-style amphitheater.
What is Myra called now?
The ancient city of Myra is now called Demre. Its name has changed many times over the years—it was called Kale until 2005 when it was renamed Demre. The reason it was called Demre was after the nearby River Demre, which flows through the city.
Is visiting Myra worth it?
Yes, visiting Myra is worth it, especially if you’re a history or architecture fan. The ancient amphitheater and rock-cut tombs are a big draw, but it’s also a hit with travelers interested in ancient Christian history. This is because Myra was the home of St. Nicholas, an important figure in Christianity.
Where is Myra located?
Myra (now known by the modern name of Demre), is located in southwest Turkey, in the Antalya province. Some travelers come to see the ancient ruins of Myra on a day trip from Antalya. This takes around 2.5 hours by bus or 2 hours and 20 minutes by car.
What is the history of the Myra ruins?
The Myra ruins are the remnants of a much bigger site, as Myra was once the capital city of Lycia during the 5th century AD. It was a leading religious center during the Roman era but was destroyed when Arab invasions swept the region in the 7th century.
What is the best time of year to visit Myra?
Myra is best visited during spring (April through June) or fall (September through November), where there are mild temperatures and smaller crowds than in July and August. This means you can walk around the archeological site and have a better chance of capturing unobstructed photos of the ruins.
