Travelling from Aberdeen, your journey begins at Perthumie Bay, where ancient metamorphosed ocean sediments of the Highland Terrane. From here, you’ll head south toward the Highland Boundary Fault — the dramatic line separating the rugged Grampian Highlands from the softer landscapes of the Midland Valley. You will also spend time exploring Midland Valley desert river sediments and lavas in the quaint village of Stonehaven.
