Great guides! We were with Jake and he made the entire experience fun and easy. He gave us lots of historical tidbits and pointed out all the woodland creatures.

Not what I would consider white water rafting. It was a very beautiful scenic float. Time of year determines float vs white water rafting. I wish description would tell you that when booking. Not what we or anyone else on the float was expecting.

Yes, the snowmelt is pretty much gone by August, and the river flow is more reservoir-fed. Thanks for the suggestion to change the copy - I will do that. Glad you enjoyed the beauty of this trip!

Fun rapids, roughing it at base camp, long drive to and from water, no snacks or drinks, no seatbelts in van and too many people, guide sat on floorboard

The Upper Colorado River run highlights the remote beauty of the Colorado backcountry. From Vail it's a solid 40 minute drive up a scenic byway. Majestic mountains and rural landscapes surround you in the towering river valley. Two little markets offer ice cream, snacks, and drinks in Rancho del Rio where our boathouse is located. It is a true Colorado backcountry experience.
