Awesome trip up and down the river. The food was amazing, great to try some native Australian food. The kangaroo was epic. The guides were friendly and informative. Unfortunately, you can't go into the caves anymore. Great experience.

Take swim wear if you fancy a swim the river.
Knowledgable guides tell you lots about local edible plants and herbs and we got to try various meats, berries and vegetables at lunch along with tasty bread. Canoeing isn’t too strenuous and you’re in a boat with others and share the work. Fun to have a race at the end too.

We can no longer visit the cave as it is now managed by the local indigenous community and we respect their decision to close the cave to the public for cultural reasons

Great enjoyable peaceful and informative trip along Margaret River. Learnt about the history of the area the habitat and experienced and tasted Bushtucker food. Local produced foraged and prepared by Helen. Which was really enjoyable.

Best day out in Margaret River. Emma, our guide, shared her knowledge of the river, aboriginal stories pertaining to the area, plus the foraged berries nuts fruits and meats to invigorate the group for the journey. It was interesting, exciting spotting birds and peaceful. A wonderful group of people of all ages made it even more pleasurable!

Our Bushtucker canoe trip up the river was excellent. Our guide Emma was a fountain of knowledge and her enthusiasm for the area was infectious.
The scenery was spectacular and the bush tucker lunch was surprisingly delicious.
Swimming in the river is completely safe as the sandbar across the entrance prevents any sharks getting into the river.
We would thoroughly recommend this trip (especially if Emma is your guide).

This was a wonderful trip, surely very underrated. The Margaret River was lovely and the water pristine. We saw almost no development. The highlight was swimming in the river. The shore lunch was a surprise delight. Our guide Adam was perfect. Very friendly but helped us with no complaints if our canoes had an issue. He was also very knowledgeable about the history, flora and fauna of the river. Canoeing experience is not needed but you do need to get in and out of the canoe.

A very enjoyable day and very well organised. Guide was very knowledgeable and had a broad understanding of local flora and fauna She provided a vast collection of foods and berries for us to taste and served a memorable meal.of kangaroo, emu and crocodile plus various pesto to try. Great canoe trip down Margaret River lead by Emma. The bushtucker lunch provided the opportunity to sample crocodile, kangaroo, emu and a selection of locally foraged side dishes. We really enjoyed the whole experience!

Brilliant tour , highly recommended , with bush tucker tasting at the outset , the canoe tour itself , a great lunch - who knew croc and emu tasted so good - kangaroo not so much though , and a look at the outside of ancient burial cave on the way back - big thanks to Adam the tour guide who made the day so interesting.

We had a sensational time at Bushtucker Tours. The organisation was fantastic, from email correspondence to rescheduling our tour date, very organised, helpful and clear instructions to ensure a great time. The day itself was cold and windy, but despite the weather, Gregg was a fabulous tour guide who spoke a lot about the history of the place and Aboriginal culture and the stories behind them. Well informed and very scenic, the experience felt like it went above and beyond and we feel very lucky to have had him in our canoe. The tour was amazing and really added to my best friend's birthday holiday celebrations. Thank you so much! Highly recommend!!

Terrible communication. Got told I would find out the day before if the event was on or not.. were I had no communication the day behind me & partner planned to leave at 5am to get there for 9am.. for us to find out at 8am that the event was cancelled because no one had booked on!? Our whole weekend was booked around this event & that if this event was unavailable we would have left much later.. this in fact ruined 2 of our free days together.
Poor communication, do better SOONER!

Our tour guide Marty had the perfect mix of humour and intellect, talking us through the history along the Margaret River and about all the trees and plants along the way. Everything from the experience of canoeing a boat, having a swim in the sun and trying new bush tucker cuisine. We had a great time would recommend and come again!!

Fantastic tour with a fabulous lunch! Our Canadian Aussie tour guide was awesome. We were a family of 7, youngest child was 6. Everyone was enjoying the tour. Would recommend it for everyone including families with young kids.

Great insight into aboriginal culture, in particular native plants, with a “fun” picnic lunch. Participants have to be aware though: it is sporty, and don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and water bottles along.
