Our driver, Tim, was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the Island and could answer any question we had. We stopped many times to learn about the history and take pictures. We fed the rock wallabies and saw wallabies running in the neighborhoods. Tim surprised us by taking us to his private property where he gathered eucalyptus branches that we took back to the animal hospital and fed two of the koalas who are there. We stopped in a small town where we had an hour of free time to eat, shop, or walk the beach. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

Great look at the island. Tim was an excellent guide. Bring a swim suit because you may have some time at one of the bays.

Easy to take the ferry from Townsville to meet the tour. Great to visit the highlights with an Island native, Izzy’s Dad! The best was going to their koala hospital and feed the rescue koalas!

Terrific behind the scenes tour of Magnetic Island. Were taken and shown all the great spots on the island. Tim was a fantastic guide - relaxed, very informative and with a great sense of humour. Made us want to come back to Magnetic Island!

What an incredible tour with Tim who I later found out is a Netflix personality in Izzy’s Koala World. He is a dynamic speaker and gave us an insight into the history and life on Magnetic Island. One of the many highlights on this trip was his campground including a self sustained Izzy’s kitchen and outdoor bathtub surrounded by nature all around. I also loved and enjoyed feeding the koalas being nursed by his wife the veterinarian at the koala hospital. Of course, the many beaches and animals with fantastic vistas were breathtaking. If you are on a cruise ship and only have one day in Townsville, it’s so worth it to grab a SeaLink ferry and head over to Magnetic Island for this tour.
