    Limerick’s history through the lens of the whisky trade

    Starting at Peggy’s Parlour a beautiful whisky bar inside Mother Macs pub, this walking tour is a great introduction to the history of Limerick through the lens of the whisky trade, with an overview of Irish history for good measure. Our guide took us along the Shannon River to major historical sites connected to Limerick’s past significance as a major whisky producer. My tip would be to arrive early to have a whisky at Peggy’s, to enjoy the ambience and warm up for the walk if it’s a cold day.
