Excellent experience. The owner Tonchi spoke English and was an excellent guide as I haven’t ridden a horse in a LONG time. The ride was beautiful. Riding through the eucalyptus forest was so cool. You had to take a moment and breathe the smell of the air. Getting to the peak was such a treat! This is a truly unique experience on the island as the only other known horse riding farm closed several year ago. I catch wait to see how this young entrepreneur’s ranch evolves over the years. Looking forward to riding the next time I’m in Easter Island. Such a special experience.

An Incredible Horseback Ride to the Top of Rapa Nui
As someone traveling alone on Rapa Nui, this horseback ride was one of the highlights of my trip. My guide, Memo with Adventure Terevaka, was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the ride.
The 2½-hour ride began by taking me through a huge eucalyptus forest. The forest was incredibly peaceful, and the smell of the eucalyptus trees was amazing. Eucalyptus was introduced to Easter Island as a fast-growing source of timber, and extensive plantings eventually created these large forests that are so striking against the island’s normally open landscape.
After leaving the forest, we traveled across beautiful rolling hills and open countryside, gradually making our way to Terevaka, the highest point on Easter Island. Riding through the middle of the island, away from the crowds and surrounded by such incredible scenery, gave me a wonderful feeling of being completely immersed in Rapa Nui.
As I descended, the sun was setting, and the views became absolutely spectacular. It was a beautiful and peaceful way to experience the island.
And I have to mention my horse! His name is the Spanish word for “wind,” and he was great—calm, dependable, and a wonderful companion for the afternoon.
Traveling alone, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. A beautiful afternoon, an incredible landscape, a great horse, and an excellent guide. I highly recommend Memo and Adventure Terevaka! I wanted to add pictures, but Viator will not allow me.
Awesome tour and guides. Beautiful views of the island at sunset. Great for beginners, the guides teach you even if you have never been on a horse.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We went out with just one other couple and Alice (owner) and her partner. The horse I rode was very responsive and well trained. Since everyone was pretty comfortable on horseback, we did some trotting and cantering. Getting to the highest point is a beautiful ride and once you’re there it’s amazing. It’s one of the few places on earth where you can do a 360 and see the curvature of the Earth everywhere. So, not recommended for flat-earthers. ;) Sunset from this vantage point is beautiful, especially if it’s a night like the one we went out on where there is some cloud cover, but not a lot. You can hike the trail on foot if you want, and we saw some people doing that, but nothing compares to doing it on horseback. Like anywhere in Chile, knowing some Spanish is helpful, but the owners at least have a working knowledge of English so you’re OK either way.
If you love nature and want a unique experience of seeing a panoramic view of Easter Island —hop on a horse and enjoy this super fun excursion. The guides were great and very accommodating and helpful to all levels of riders. Highly recommend!

The guides offer free rides to their ranch, where you’ll meet very calm and friendly horses. Listen to the guides’ instructions and you’ll have an easy ride to the sunset. We did this tour at New Year’s Eve. Memorable moments.

We had the most amazing experience. The freedom to ride the horses along the island and up to the tallest point was something that we will all remember. The views were amazing and the guides were awesome. Such a fabulous experience!
I definitely not recommend this company. I had been waiting in the hotel for 1 hour and I still wasn't picked up. I tried to contact the tour operator but didn't get any response. I felt very disappointed.

This was a truly sad situation. We understand that
communication will sometimes fail.
Please note:
- Not all hotels have a reception desk, so your WhatsApp is our primary communication channel.
- The pickup vehicle will always communicate when it's on its way, when it has arrived, and when it has left (without you).
- If you don't reach the pickup vehicle, there will be a period of at least 1 hour where we will be without phone service (at the ranch), before we communicate or, in this case, show up at the hotel.
- We are always open to listening and understanding what happened and, of course, remedying the situation as much as possible.
- If you have time, you can ride another day no extra charge. Or, like in this case, you always have a full refund option.
Amazing experience! I was worried about riding back down the mountain in darkness but thankfully that wasn’t an issue. We rode about an hour to the top, spent some time there, and then rode back down before sunset. While on the ride the sun set and eventually once we made it back it was dark. Overall great experience!
Despite being a terrible rider I had such a fun time. I was told I’d be picked up at 6pm and Alice arrived on time. The ranch is such a beautiful place, completely different than the rest of the island. You ride through a eucalyptus forest and beautiful rolling hills with cows and horses grassing freely. You walk up to the tallest point and watch the beginning of the sunset and get the enjoy it on your way back. Our guide (his name escapes me) wasn’t fluent in English, but he tried his best and could be understood. He stopped and took photos for us (another participant and I). The horses are beautiful and are so healthy. You can tell everyone who works there loves their job, maybe except for my stubborn horses 😜😜
I would 100% do this again and recommend you book this.
Bonus: if you’re lucky you might spot some chickens, cat or dog.
Warning: if you’re not an avid rider, be prepared to be sore. Bring as little as possible since you’ll be carrying it.
This is great way to see the island and the unexpected views and beautiful vistas it offers. We very much enjoyed the ride with our guide and host and felt it was the perfect introduction to our Rapa Nui stay.
This was not a ride to see sunset at the highest point. It was a lovely ride to the highest point way before sunset because it would be too dark to ride back if you stayed there for sunset. Since it was winter they picked us up at 3:30 not 6:30. Luckily, he gave us three hours notice and we weren’t on a whole day tour!
We had a lovely horse ride! The landscape is beautiful and we were paired with horses that were appropriate for our riding levels. The sunset has beautiful. We would recommend this tour!
The ride was easy. The horses were gentle. The leader was friendly and cared about our safety. He also knew a great deal about the island. It was a fun experience.

The ride up was very relaxing and arriving to the highest point on the island provided the most beautiful difficult to describe in words, views. The ocean seems endless and the colors at sunset were awe inspiring. We are so small and the world is so large.

乗馬は初めての体験でしたが、非常におとなしい馬であったため、初心者でも乗馬することが出来ました。2時間超の行程ですが、徐々に沈んでいく夕日を見ながらイースター島の最高地点まで登っていく体験は大変すばらしいものでした。
車で入れないところにいけるので、とても良い経験になります。山の頂上は見晴らしがとてもよいです。天気があまりよくなく、小雨が降ってきましたが、代わりに虹を見ることができました。
ある程度乗馬経験があった方が良いかもしれません。
開始時間が6時となっていますが、4時頃にホテルまで車で迎えにきてくれます。ただ、先方から連絡がないので不安な場合はサイト経由で確認すると良いです。
