Fatma was a gracious host as she took us to all parts of Konya . I was surprised there Was so much to see., From all the beautiful mosques to learning about the Whirling dervishes and all about Rumi. We also spent a lovely luncheon eating Turkish local food. If you're spending a day in Konya You should spend it with Fatma

I was traveling with my girlfriends and we booked this 7 hour tour as a way to see Konya and understand a bit more about the Sufi religion and history. It was well worth it and provided context and background information.
Mete was professional in handling our tour and in his communications. Since our tour was on a Monday there were several sites that were closed so he provided alternative stops for us to review ahead of time which was helpful to our group of 3 and the added stops did not disappoint.
Our guide Yunus was informative and interesting throughout the trip. We walked from site to site and he explained in detail the history of the Sufi's, Konya and Turkish life. The Mevlana Muzesi was stunning and we enjoyed it immensely. The Karatay Medresesi Museum was also an amazing place with so much information. We were parched by that point and Yunus kindly bought us water. One of the added on places was the Konyanuma Panorama Museum which was filled with paintings depicting Rumi's life and journey from Iran to Konya. It was well done and contained a lot of information and we highly recommend it to added to the regular tour. Another added on site for us was the Konya Büyükşehir Belediyesi Taş Bina... formerly a girls teacher training school, it is now a digital experience and cultural arts center. The center delved into the history of Konya and was fascinating and well done.. again it should be part of the regular tour!
We truly enjoyed our day walking with Yunus and Mete's skillful driving to our meeting point and to the village of Sille.

I had one day to see Konya and this tour was an excellent overview of the rich history of the area, the life of Rumi, and the vibrant bazaar area that is still thriving. Fatma is a top-tier guide with years of experience as a guide and a teacher.

Highly recommended! The tour operator is responsible, professional, I went for hours to Konya and they picked me up at the airport and had taken me to a lot of interesting places. Fatma, our guide, was very kind, attentive and has a great Knowledge from Konya and Rumi. She explained us the story of Konya, the most important periods of its history. A long, long time ago, I majored in Near Eastern studies, so I am familiar with Arabic, Persian, and Turkish, as well as with Turkish history. Perhaps because it's still early in the "season" (7 May), it was a 2-person walking tour, so it was very personalized. Our guide, Fatima, was knowledgeable, filled in some gaps in my knowledge, and most importantly, improvised the tour based on my interests and questions. Perhaps the highlight was the tomb of Rumi's mentor, Şems-i Tebrîzî. I am neither religious, nor a Sufi, but this a very useful tour, well worth the cost for 2 people.
Selene Travel is run by Mete Horzum, who is a real, live Mevlevi dervish. We didn't get to meet Mete, but he was very helpful in the days leading up to our tour. The weather forecast was iffy, and he reassured me that the forecast for 7 May was pretty good. It was; we had only a few minutes of showers during a 7-hour walking tour.
Excellent value. Exploring on our own would not have been nearly as productive.

Konya captured our heart! Br. Mete and his entire team including our tour guide Fatima was such an amazing host. They went above and beyond, was super flexible with timing, transportation, arranged one of the most high quality lunches we had anywhere in Turkey, and just huge us a 5 star service all the way around.
Konya felt like Madinah and the spiritual peace of visiting the beautiful sites of Mevlana Rumi and all other beautiful people that are buried in the city is indescribable.
So much peace and love here. This tour team is someone I will recommend to everyone visiting Turkey from now on.
