Following pickup at select hotel locations in Castries, travel out of town to St. Lucia Distillers. Pass banana plantations and appreciate views of Morne Fortune on the way to the distillery, located near Marigot Bay.

Meet your 'Rum Ambassador,' the distillery's specialized guide, for your behind-the-scenes tour of the distillery. Several different brands of rum are manufactured here, including Chairman's Reserve Spiced Rum, 1931, and Admiral Rodney. Learn about the rum-making process, from sugarcane to finished product.

Visit the 'rum buffet,' to taste several distinct rums and liqueurs, including Marigot Bay Liqueurs' chocolate orange and coconut flavors. Ask your guide if any additional premium rums are available for tasting; the selection varies by the day. Take this opportunity to purchase any standouts to bring home with you.

Then head to Castries Market, a 100-year-old farmers market, for a chance to purchase spices, fruits, or locally made souvenirs.

After enjoying your tour steeped in the culture, history, and taste of rum, head back to Castries for drop-off at select hotels.

An ok experience

A pretty ok tour for those who like trying local rums with a few caveats. Tour did not show the sugar cane crushing process and the tasting room lacked guidance and left questions up to customers rather than having a nice sit down experience with someone walking you through the background on each rum etc. if you have been to Barbados, the rum tours there were much more informative

My husband and I had Elijah for our tour to the Rum Distillery during our honeymoon trip in St. Lucia. Elijah was a wonderful driver, he was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and attentive during our entire round trip experience from the north to the south of the island. My husband and I would absolutely recommend Elijah to anyone who is looking to do an any tour while on the island.

We had a great time! The rum tour at the distillery is very well organized and you’re able to sample almost everything they produce. We didn’t go to the Casteries Market but I think that’s because our hotel is very near the distillery so it didn’t make sense. All in all it was great, the guide and driver were lovely! Would do it again

The rum tasting tour in St. Lucia was an exceptional experience! Visiting St. Lucia Distillers, we explored the fascinating rum-making process and sampled a wide variety of rums, from smooth aged blends to flavorful spiced options. The Admiral Rodney Rum stood out as my favorite, with its rich, complex flavor profile. The guides were knowledgeable, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. The scenic drive through the island’s lush landscapes and a stop at Castries Market added a cultural touch. Highly recommended!

Good experience overall but some issues with pick up time vs when the driver showed up (he was told a different pick up time) and getting to the actual tour after it had already started. The driver was wonderful and the rum tour itself was great.

A taste of history

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. She didn’t rush through t the tour even though it was only 2 of us. We felt at ease and were given ample time to look and take photos. She was well versed in the different rums in the tasting area and was even able to give excellent recommendations. Overall the tour was fun and we left with our favorite flavors.

Room for improvement but a decent experience

The tour guide who took us to and from this tour was really pleasant. He was a great conversationalist and pointed out all the places of interest along the route, even stopping for us to get some pics and do some shopping. The actual tour of the distillery was not as exciting as we had hoped. Our guide was not the most enthusiastic. The positive side was that we were able to sample a wide range of their rums.

Or quite what we expected after visiting g other distilleries in the Caribbean. Expected a tour of the grounds &to see more of how the runs weee made rather than a short speach etc. saw a short video then had the chance to taste some rums. Didn’t last as long as we expected. We really enjoyed this tour , the driver we had was great and make the trip enjoyable. The tour itself was approx 20/30 mins but was interesting and you got to try all their available rums (which was 20 plus) . A decent half a day out

Good presenter. Appreciated the opportunity to sample and compare all the types of Rum in the tasting area. Salespeople in bottle shop were very nice and helpful when we had questions about limits and rules about United States customs limits. They did a great job packaging our purchased Rum so it was ready to pack in a suitcase. I didn't give 5 stars because we had difficulty hearing descriptions of the two different types of stills, and the bottles of resulting product at each step while next to the stills. Suggest presenting that inside and then allowing pictures and questions when next to stills. Also would have liked to see where the Rum barrels are stored (if on-site).

Having visited other distilleries in the Caribbean had expected more from the tour. Tour of distillery lasted no more than 30 minutes and then rum tasting which was very much help yourself. Company could make much more of the shop experience - only bottles of rum. No souvenirs or mementos. Unfortunately would not recommend this tour.

ok - but more a tour than a Rum Tasting experience

Was more of a tour than a Rum Experience, There was a tour of the Distillery but it seemed very rushed and would have been good to see the Barrel store, the Rum tasting was good with many rums available to taste. The Distillery Shop was closed and there was no advice of this before hand. The Tour had a stop in the city all the market and one at a smaller market on the Tour - focussed seemed more on trying to get people to spend money at these locations than the Rum Tasting which is the key headline of the experience The tour did last quite a bit longer that advertised which was nice but making up for a lot of time spent in traffic jams

Overpriced but still good

We had a very friendly driver pick us up, got some sightseeing on the way and he told us a little about the history of the island which was nice. The Distillery tour consisted of a somewhat rushed explanation in person and then a video about the history. The tasting was unlimited and there were A LOT that you could sample. Not that we wanted to drink too much in the am... Then off to Castries Market where we stayed. Probably way cheaper to organise the taxi yourself but it was very convenient and easy!

Rum distillery & Castries tour

Drive Sam was excellent. Lots of knowledge & stopped off at Marigot Bay & a Banana plantation. The rum tour was chaotic but the tasting area was well laid out & all products on offer. The shop only takes cash or physical cards (no Apple Pay) so take these with you. A lovely stop off in Castries for an hour to look around

Samuel was a great guide and was very knowledgable, unfortunately my wife was poorly but Samuel looked after us by getting a taxi for us back to the hotel. He really couldn't do enough for us and the tour itself was good, especially the tasting!
