NYC Travelers on the Tigre Delta

My husband and I appreciated the opportunity to experience a different part of Buenos Aires. It took us close to an hour by Uber from our hotel in Palmero to get to the dock and then we entered a different world. Our guide is an architect by day so we had interesting conversations about the architecture of the houses on the Tigre Delta. His friend joined us who was very entertaining and training to be a sommelier. We had a delicious, leisurely lunch with wonderful wine sitting outside at his house on the water with their affectionate dogs and cat. A wonderful way to spend the day. Most memorable.

Terrible… read to understand the NON experience

This was absolutely the worst experience ever. I booked last minute (night before) but when you book last minute most bookings are not available if they are not available. This one was available and gave me a confirmation number and location point. I had to uber to the destination ($30 uber there) since i was in Buenos Aires not Tigre. That was fine until i arrived and realized that i dis not have the name of the boat , just a voucher to be scanned with an address. Everyone at the dock said they did not know this person. I looked up the operator online to call them but the phone was not working. I messaged viator but no response. Twice. Then i called viator by googling them and they said “oups! Operator canceled you”! I was furious to say the least. Someone somewhere messed up big time. Viator assured me that they would uld put in my request for a refund for my uber rides to and from aince i wasted my entire morning of vacation to get there and back FOR NOTHING. Less than a few hours later i received an email saying they would not reimburse me which i find outrageous and THEFT. As for the boat ride: its difficult online to see thus but you can just easily go to Tigre, get a water taxi for $12 with only 8-10 people and be on the same water. Sure you dont get the lunch but at least its not a tourist trap. I really wantes to do this experience given all the positive reviews but i really wonder how many people have experienced in hat i experienced.. and its difficult to leave a review in this case but i found a way. Save your money and your time. No one should operate a business if they can not remember to close the bookings so that tourists dont encounter such a mess.

Relaxing Day on the Delta

Nico and his wife picked us up from our accommodation exactly when they said they would, and made us feel super comfortable right away. Truly lovely couple. So easy to talk to. Their boat, their dog, their house on the delta -- we felt we got to experience something really special, with fun and knowledgeable hosts. Couldn't ask for more.
