    Excellent, but 80% commission by Viator and agents

    This was a amazing experience which we really enjoyed. The horseback riding, the Asado and wine were wonderful. Our guide Nico was very welcoming and friendly. His English was impeccable. It is frustrating for the ranch and for the customers that so much commission is taken by intermediaries. The ranch charges 100 USD per person, but we paid 180 USD per person. TripAdvisor/Viator take commissions, and also two local excursion companies: LS Travel Group, and Si Turismo (222 Villegas). Try to to organise directly with Si Turismo.

    Despite having paid in full and receiving confirmation of my booking I’d had no communication from the tour operator up until the night before my planned trip - so I sent them a message myself via the Viator app. On the morning of my trip, I saw that I’d received a message at 3:48am saying that my experience was not available until 2 days later. I replied, telling them that I would not be in Bariloche in two days time and that I was ready to go today. The tour operator never responded and did not turn up to my hotel at 9am. When I informed Viator, they tried to contact the tour operator directly but could not get a reply either. Viator apologised and issued me a refund. I had been looking forward to this experience and so was very disappointed that it wasn’t happening. I appreciate that unexpected events can lead to cancellations but whatever the reason for the no-show; the lack of communication was unprofessional, inconsiderate and dismissive. I travel alone and was quite upset at my treatment. I have booked many excellent trips and experiences with Viator over the years and will continue to do so - however, I will be completely avoiding ParaViajantes Tours when searching for excursions in the future. I am yet to receive any kind of communication, explantation or apology from them.
