We arrived late in the port missing the 12pm. The owner was very accommodating and allowed us to go to the 1330. Food was excellent and the history of Napoleon was great.

We were welcomed warmly despite showing up early, and we were encouraged to wait outside in the shade in the chairs the had available. Once the event started, we sat in “the cave” and watched the eerily moving paintings.
Our host introduced our experience as 4 parts/phases of Napoleon’s life, and served us the typical Corsican meal, with prosciutto, ham, salami, and lonzu (my favorite), supplemented with sheep’s milk cheese, a couple of puff pastry pillows, fig jam, and bread. A basic salad of mixed lettuces and cherry tomatoes with a simple dressing in the middle. It was all delicious!!
I loved learning more about N in some of the fictionalized movies shown - they were well done. In the 3rd part of the activity, as we listened to the Corsican song, the snippets that came from other movies were put together in a way that I could not follow the story - it’s the only reason I didn’t mark the experience a 5. I still learned a lot from the experience.
A note for families with kids….the situations, tensions, etc., covered in the movies might be over the heads of children under 12. My teen got bored and left after 45 min.
I highly recommend the experience as a great way to learn how Corsicans think about N. and to learn more about N’s history.

I am glad I picked this. The guy was super nice, especially for France. When we got there, it was a weird time between showings, so I expected to be told to wait outside for a while, but he was like, "Do you want to start it now? Come on in!" There was no one else there. It was a tiny little hole-in-the-wall place; it couldn't have sat more than 20 people any way, but this just made me like it all the more. He gave us a couple glasses of wine and a locally made packaged cookie. Then we watched a video about Napoleon. It was well acted and interesting. It was nice and cool in the cave-like place, even in August. I would definitely recommend this.

This was such a fun experience in a setting that mimicked a real grotto that Napoleon would have played in. The movie was excellent and we learned so much. There are headsets available for a variety of languages and the hosts were lovely! The only issue we had (hence a 4 instead of 5 star) was that this site did not give a clear time to arrive for the experience and we had to wait for an hour which wasn’t a hardship given so much else to see in Ajaccio.
