What are people saying about Rotorua

Wonderful Wonderland
We went here on a week day so it wasn't crowded at all. The paths were easy to walk and things were well signed. It was very cold so wear a lot of clothes. I wore six layers! The sights are incredible - absolutely unique. It was further from Rotorua than expected but it's worth it. I thought maybe I could swim in a thermal pool or bath in mud but it's all visual only.

Great day out for the family!
My partner and I took our two kids (4 and 10months) and had a great day. The show was fantastic. The best part was when we got to feed the baby lambs a bottle on stage.
The farm tour was great, although very cold winds in the open air trailer towed behind a tractor. Make sure you bring warm clothing. We loved getting to pat and feed all the very hungry sheep and alpaca. All of the staff were amazing.

Amazing walk in a very special place.
Amazing experience.2h30 walking up the Mount Tarawera, then we descended in the crater.Stunning views of the Bay of Plenty lakes. The descent to the crater was a cool experience and once there it looks amazing.
Our guides were amazing, took time to explain their culture and their spiritual connection to the place.
All over a great experience.

A Must Do
This is a must do experience for any LoTR fan. My partner and I were excited if a little wary given all the hype for this tour. Expectations were high and I was ready to be disappointed. That couldn't have been further from our experience. The tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable about the books and films and her energy was infectious. Getting to your a hobbit hole and get a drink at the legendary Green Dragon is in our all time top ten experiences. If you are a true fan you simply must do this tour!

Highly recommended
Great food amazing show showcasing the Māori culture. I would probably suggest doing the earlier slot if you are visiting with kids or elderly as it does get cold at night (winter time) . We missed the geyser as my group got cold and wanted to go home.

Fantastic Experience
What a fantastic evening! Very well thought out, everything is provided (from wetsuits, booties to dry layers) the glow worms were magical and the kayaking not at all strenuous. Our guide was great and made it a really enjoyable evening that I would highly recommend to anyone considering this activity :-)

Excellent tour
Our travel guide, Phil, was fantastic. He picked us up from the meeting place right on time. Throughout the drive to each spot, he kept up an informative and interesting dialogue, providing history of New Zealand and recommendations of other places to visit in New Zealand. During each walking tour, he provided more information but was also quiet so we could enjoy the peacefulness of each site. I felt well-supported as he seemed to sincerely care that we were all getting what we needed. It was an excellent tour!

Can not miss experience with family
Fantastic tour for our family to experience their first ziplines. The guides were amazing and there was great conversation and comraderie with everyone on the tour. I especially loved that we got to learn about the forest and the organization's conservation work.

Thanks Jack
The adventure of a lifetime! Jack was an incredible guide and with his expertise we felt safe experiencing this thrill on our trip. The crew educated us about the rapids and ensured we were safe at all times. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. A must do if you are in Rotorua!

Accessibility @ the Kiwi Hatchery.
Great experience. Staff are fantastic with people using mobility aids, except you need to go to the Ageodome first to collect actual tickets and then drive to the Hatchery, if a visitor uses Mobility Aids. This made us late for the start of the tour, even though we arrived 10mins early at the Agrodome. Actual experience and information provided was good quality and we had the chance to ask questions. We managed to see a 3 day old kiwi in the Hatchery area, as well as an adult male & female in indoor habitats.

Fancy, yet relaxing spa
Our bodies were so tight and had lots of knots from traveling; this place came as just perfect. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it provides upscale spa experience with less crowd and more space. Each sauna and ice room were amazing. I loved that I could do cold plunge here and there. Also, the sulfer pools, hydro pool and herb pool were perfect to relax and hop around. Lastly, the mud room and steam sauna were perfect for my skin. The locker room was clean and the shower amenity was good.
I thought 2 hours might not be enough; but it actually was. I think 2.5 hours would be perfect. I loved the fact that it was not crowded at all from 3 PM to 5 PM; we enjoyed the lake view and amazing hot pools.
