Angel 10/10
Angel was 10/10. He took the time to slide down the nature waterslide with my small children who were not comfortable doing it alone. He was knowledgeable about the rainforest and our trip. Safety was his number one priority. I would definitely recommend him to everyone !

Fabulous family times!
First off, not a scam. We had tour guide Blu. Her passion of safety with adventure was perfect for our family’s first time. We enjoyed all the fun facts. Based off the instructions provided, they were easy to follow from where to meet, what time, where to park, where to buy last second items, which items to take or not to the hike. She takes photos and videos so you can free up your hands. Blu deserves more recognition for all she does! Thank you Blu!

Best time everrrrr
Our guide Jeffery was amazing!!! He was very attentive and caring, and safety was his priority. Reassurance was key, and he didn’t push you to do anything you didn’t feel comfortable with, and we knew we were in good hands hiking in the rainforest. We learned so much. Also the bus driver was awesome keeping us on track with time. An amazing trip, we had a blast, big thanks to your crew. And yes ladies, all the guys giving the tours are extremely handsome.

10/10! No notes!
The tour was well organized and most importantly: fun!!! Alongside a beautiful, active hike, Andrea was a great guide! Hilarious, smart, charismatic, and safety oriented. I will definitely be going with this tour group and requesting her as a guide again!

  • The El Portal visitor center provides a good introduction to the area—pick up a map and follow the signposted trails. It's open daily from 9am to 5pm and does not require a reservation. However, individuals 16 or older are required to pay an $8 entrance fee.

  • Wear hiking boots, comfortable clothing, and bring a bathing suit; flip-flops are not your best bet.

  • There are plenty of hiking trails in the forest. The trails are restricted to foot traffic only and are not accessible by stroller or wheelchair.

  • Popular combination tours include a kayaking trip on the nearby bioluminescent bay and a visit to Luquillo Beach.

  • Travelers interested in a guided tour of the forest should ensure that their tour operator is an authorized El Yunque National Forest tour guide prior to booking.
