Best Fish & Chips ever in Dingle!
Lots of driving/time on the bus from our pick up spot in Limerick, but worth it. We took the horse & buggy ride through Killarney National Park- lots of trees…it was okay. Then back on the bus to head to The Wild Atlantic Way. We went to Inch Beach- very misty and foggy day, so not much to see thanks to Mother Nature 😋. Then traveled along down the coast to the Dingle Peninsula. It was misty but visibility had improved a bit- very pretty area. We had lunch in the quaint town of Dingle (best Fish and Chips at Harrington’s!!!). We shopped and walked a bit in Dingle before heading back. Fun day!

Bunratty Castle - fun filled history
The castle is well restored with beautiful and interesting artifacts. As Americans, we found the castle to be fascinating since we have no real castles. Be sure to go up in the towers to see the views! The village gave us a good idea of what farm life was like in the 1800s.

Memorable Evening
So much fun! The entire experience was delightful. I loved being greeted by the bagpipe player in full regalia! The costumed characters were professional and welcoming. Their singing was beautiful & the violinist was the perfect accompianament to our feast. I personally loved the mead & bought a bottle at the airport later to bring home. The meal was delicious and I appreciated the vegetarian option.
If you have any mobility issues be aware that you will be climbing a lot of ancient stone stairs!

Highly recommend
Cierian is an awesome tour guide! Super flexible with great recommendations. Tell him the purpose of your trip, what you are trying to experience, and he will ensure you have a phenomenal trip. If he suggests to leave at 7am, do it because you’ll get to see a few extra places.

We came to Limerick to...
We came to Limerick to learn more about Frank McCourt. Frank is a distant relative whom we had the opportunity to meet in 2006. We wanted to have more of a sense of where he grew up. While enjoying the beauty of contemporary Limerick, we were also able to move back in time with the help of our guide, Joe Coleman. He brought to life the places and times experienced by Frank. His depth of knowledge, the result of diligent personal research, brought the Limerick of Frank's day into focus. He made the tour an exceptional and worthwhile experience! We look forward to learning more about Limerick and Ireland through a book he has written, Down by the Bare Place.
