What are people saying about Baku

Had a great day trip...
Had a great day trip seeing the sights near Baku. We were efficiently whisked around on minibuses all day and our guide was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The length of time at each stop was appropriate. If I had a tip for future travellers it would be to load up on breakfast or take a snack, as we didn't get to lunch until 3pm. It was worth the wait though.

Samir and Vogar were...
Samir and Vogar were wonderful. The pink lake was not pink this time of year. they said it is seasonal. Ensure you bring cash for the man who lives at the top of five finger mountain. He will give you tea and other small snacks. Also, pack toilet paper. It was not in any restroom on the tour.

Beautiful trip to the mountains
This is a full day experience that takes you up into the mountains, to a living remote mountain village. I learned about this trip from another traveller and specifically travelled to Baku to join the day tour. I was not disappointed . If you enjoy being in the mountains then this is the trip for you . The road trip through the mountains is spectacular and the village is like a step back in time . There is nothing touristy about it!

Amazing tour ! A must see when visiting Baku.
Reza was one of the best guides I have had on any tour. He really seemed to care deeply about the group and making sure everyone had the best time. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond in every way. Even speaking in 2 different languages to make sure everyone understood. His knowledge of the history and facts and culture was unlimited. there was nothing he didn't know. I found it so interesting to learn more about this fascinating countries history. This tour is unbelievable value. Including all transport, guide AND lunch !!! I would have paid double this for the quality of the tour to be honest. Reza also skipped the lines at the tourist attractions and helped us buy our tickets in just a couple of minutes Vs queuing up if we went alone. Honestly a fantastic tour and I highly recommend. Great way to see the key sights in a relaxing and calm way and to learn more history. Too marks to the guide, driver and tour company!!!! Great job thank you so much for giving us such awesome memories. Appreciate very much

Excellent trip with Ruslan
We had a very good trip with Ruslan. Communication in English was adequate and he had good knowledge of all the places. He came with us to all the sites and explained facts and gave some interesting information as well. The local driver he arranged at the mud volcanoes (Faris) was also an excellent choice.
Ruslan was very pleasant throughout the day and made us comfortable. He also accommodated our requests to spend some extra time at the fire temple and Yanardag. We enjoyed the day and will definitely recommend this trip.

Well-run tour, but the stops are not worth going to
The tour itself was well-run. The company is organized and communicates well, everything happened on time, and the trilingual (at least!) guide gave us some information along the way.
Unfortunately, the stops are just not that interesting. The petroglyphs are, I guess, the highlight, but just know that you will only see about 20 of them, even though there are supposedly thousands. It's quite limited. The associated museum has almost nothing in it, and the other stops did feel a bit like filler, although they might be interesting to some.

Best Baku tour and tour guide Terlan
Terlan is an excellent guide and speaks good English. They are very knowledge about the city sights including the history and culture of Baku. The tour is run at a relaxed pace and covers all the key attractions. Terlan has deep local knowledge, engaging storytelling, and strong people skills to create a memorable experience.
I would strongly recommend Terlan as your tour guide for Baku.

A Gobustan excursion
It Was an interesting tour. I learnt a lot at Gobustan stone art, I loved visiting the Zoroastrism temple and museum. It did not particularly like the tour guide, there was an unwilling to help make photos and a disdain for what he deemed "tourist behaviour". Go on this tour if tou really love nature, history and culture, it is not a fancy tour but educative.

Amazing experience
We had an amazing Shahdag tour with our guide Murad! The trip covered so many beautiful places including Candy Cane Mountain, Pink Lake, 4 Finger Mountain, Shahdag, and Quba City. Everything was very well organized and enjoyable.
At Shahdag, me and my wife had a fantastic time doing the Alpine Coaster, zip line, and chair lift rides — such a fun and exciting experience with breathtaking views!
We also enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch in the beautiful Gachresh Forest near Quba, which made the trip even more special and relaxing.
The bus was comfortable, the driver was professional and safe, and Murad was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable throughout the tour. He made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the journey.
Just one thing that the time at shahdag i.e 2 hrs is a bit short so maybe extend the time to cover the activities.
Otherwise Highly recommended tour and guide for anyone visiting Azerbaijan!

Great highlight tour of Baku
I chose the private (with pickup) option for this tour, as I was travelling with my senior parent, and I wanted her to be comfortable with the pace.
We were picked up promptly at our hotel, and were joined by our tour guide shortly thereafter. Because it was cold (early March), our tour started at the Heydar Aliyev Centre, and we proceeded to through all the highlights of the city in sequence.
I have been on a lot of tours, and most of the guides are always kind, considerate, well informed, and welcoming. This guide, Elcan, went above and beyond. A young, sprightly, enthusiastic person, he put up with two older ladies traipsing along at their own pace without complaint. He didn't hurry us through the tour (even though he could easily have), and took the time to explain each attraction to us in detail.
He even helped my mother over slightly trickier terrain, and he absolutely did not have to do that. It was much appreciated though.
A word of appreciation for the tour company as well; they were communicative, prompt and mostly quite flexible. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.

Unique opportunity to see 10,000 year old petroglyphs and play in live mud volcanoes!
I'll do this one in parts as there were several different stops.
--Qobustan - These cave sketches were AWESOME.. As they were over 10,000 years old its incredible how good of shape they were in and I would definitely recommend checking them out. The museum there was REALLY well done and signs were in English as well.
--Mud Vulcano - This is another very unique opportunity! Some of the volcanoes could be lit on fire with a match due to the leaking methane. The other volcanoes that were filled with mud were just bubbling bubbling away. You could heard them pop as they bubbled to the surface. You could also stick your hand in and draw in the mud.
BONUS - I paid our driver 10 bucks to let me drive his 40 year old Russian 4 speed car on the dunes and that was really fun!
Ateshgah - This stop at the fire temple as not very interesting. The fact that a few different religions all lived there at once was pretty cool though.
BONUS - I complimented one of the tour guides (Almira) on how cool her glasses were.. the very glasses she was WEARING and she gave them to me! I was so flattered and I'm going to put a prescription in them when I get home.
Yanardag Fire Mountain Tour - For me this was a big dud. I have just went to the "Gates of Hell" in Turkmenistan and they were 500 times bigger and more impressive than this one tiny flame. i would skip this stop all together.

The capital city of Azerbaijan is known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning location on the Caspian Sea. If you want to see some of the sites in Baku’s Old City, a Baku tour can show you the medieval city walls and Maiden Towers juxtaposed alongside contemporary architecture like the Flame Towers. Many visitors wish to head outside the city to the nearby regions of Shamakhi, Ismailli, Gabala, and Sheki, where your expert guide will show you beautiful mosques, vibrant bazaars, and historic palaces.
