Trip from York to Whitby.
Check holiday and school break schedules ahead of time snd avoid those dates as Whitby was quite crowded. We were also disappointed that the steam train portion was canceled. Overall we had a very nice time. Our tour guide, Mark, was very courteous and knowledgeable. Thank You

Marc did a great job...
Marc did a great job talking about the history of the areas we drove by and pointing out all the highlights along the way. At one point, the road was unexpectedly closed, but he did not hesitate to find a nice detour. Also, the train wasn't running to Whitby, but he was able to change up the itinerary so that we could take another section of the rail journey. If you're short on time or want to get an overview of the Uorkshire Moors, this is a great introduction to the area!

Visiting outside of York
Great scenery and history. Small bus of only 16 passengers so it is not overcrowded.
Pretty English towns, sheep and more sheep, lots of lunch options and an informative guide.

Great Experience
We did the the Moors, Whitby & The Yorkshire Steam Railway Day Trip from York. It was a great day made even more pleasurable and special with all the knowledge from our tour guide/driver of the mini bus Mark. He made it all so special with his wealth of knowledge of all the areas we visited and so helpful in every way. The tour we would gladly do again.

Excellent all round trip
Excellent day trip with Mark our guide. Huge amounts of great information. Mark was very respectful and considerate and made us feel comfortable. Safe driver. Lovely comfy minibus with charging points. Great amount of time in Whitby and the steam train was fab.

Great fun, and we learned a lot too!
Our guide and driver - Mark - took great care to build a warm relationship with us all at the start of our day’s adventure, briefing us on important safety and “don’t get lost” procedures and building us into a close-knit team. He was an excellent speaker and very knowledgeable about York and the surrounding countryside. His presentation was interesting and engaging. He welcomed questions and answered them with confidence. He took us to a number of locations where we had to be careful of our footing, or where due to crowds we might get lost or separated, but each time, he kept us well informed, well organized and safe. We learned a lot from his presentation, and had a lot of fun too. It was a great and valuable way to spend our day.

A feast for nature lovers.
There's a lot more to York than the city. The countryside is a photographer's paradise. Whilst you will want more time and shots this trip does not disappoint with variety and ground covered. Unfortunately the heritage train trip didn't live up to expectations with just forest scenery on either side. The novelty value and contribution to maintain the track and engines is a consideration. Good value for most travellers and will likely have you wanting to explore more.
