Enjoy the sunset sail on arrival day in Rio
We couldn’t have been happier with this activity on our arrival day in Rio. When we headed out the marina was a bit crowded and we expected we’d be out with a number of party boats. Instead we enjoyed a relaxing cruise as we covered a lot of territory in the bay as we enjoyed some light snacks and drinks. Seating was comfortable and we could move around to get some great photos. A pretty sunset was a bonus, and we were one of the few boats able to enjoy the beautiful scenery after dark. Not much of a sail, but they did get the jib out. In all, highly recommended for an overview of Rio.

Great Job!
Great experience with Luciana! Kept us informed and kept us together when other people were touring so we didn’t get lost. Also she very friendly and good at her job. I would recommend her as your guide. I will say to eat before going or bring a snack, you can’t eat until closer to the end due to you going to multiple locations to take photos and time is limited. I still recommend going during the day.

Highly recommended.
While this was a great experience I would give it a ‘medium’ in terms of difficulty. Once leaving your vehicle you are in for a vertical hike over mostly roots and rocks. It took us 1 1/2 hours hours up and an hour down. Our guides, Eduardo and Larissa (my new best friend) were wonderful, looking for and spotting sloths, monkeys and others. I particularly want to shout out to Larissa. I couldn’t have done without your assistance. Gloria

Don't be scared and experience this unique favela
I am from the US and I know many people are told scary stories about favelas. I took my 19 yr old son on this tour and to say it was eye opening would be an understatement. Our tour guide was local and lived in the favela along with her partner (our security) who was also from there. She was sweet, full of knowledge and really did a fantastic job of making us fell safe and educated. This is what to expect: drive to the top in a very comfortable van, see people practicing Capoeira (bring a few dollars to donate to the kids performing), visit a house (there is a small fee of just a few dollars that you must pay) this gives you roof top views of the favela and the city below, walk through the favela to the bottom. There are things you will see there that you will not forget. There are times where our guide stopped us and told us no phones, sunglasses or smart watches could be worn or out in view because the people in the streets do not want to be viewed or recorded doing their illegal activities. We were safe, but you still must act appropriately and follow instructions. This is the largest favela of 150,000 people controlled by the local mob. They have strict rules that make it safe for tourists. I can't say enough good things about our guide! Great experience all around! There are many favelas that are not safe and should never be entered, but this is a good one.

Rio de Janeiro isn't called “The Marvelous City” for nothing—and its staggering beauty begs to be discovered from multiple angles. Book a sightseeing package to tick off many of its top attractions in one day, from the evocatively named Sugarloaf Mountain to the sky-high Christ the Redeemer. Then, soak up more magnificent views on a sunset sailing excursion, aboard a helicopter, or, for daredevils, with a paragliding adventure. Other Rio de Janeiro tours will immerse you in the city's vibrant culture, whether you catch a futebol game, watch a samba performance, or dine like a Carioca during a market visit.
