Our driver, Jensen, was excellent! He was very punctual, friendly, and welcoming from the moment he picked us up at the airport. During the drive to Antigua, he shared interesting facts about Guatemala, pointed out places along the way, and made the trip both informative and enjoyable. One of our favorite fun facts was that the coffee at McDonald’s in Guatemala is surprisingly some of the best around because it’s locally sourced. His local knowledge and great conversation made the ride fly by, which we especially appreciated after landing late in the day following a long flight. Roberto was an absolutely wonderful driver from Guatemala City to Antigua. He was kind, professional, punctual, and made us feel comfortable from the moment he picked us up. He helped us with all of our bags, and his vehicle was very clean, well maintained, and safe. During the drive, Roberto talked with us about Guatemala, explained what we were seeing along the way, and patiently answered all of our questions. His English is excellent, which made communication easy and enjoyable. We learned so much about the culture from him during our trip. He also went above and beyond for us by stopping when we needed a bathroom break and happily pulling over at a little roadside ice cream truck when we asked to stop for ice cream. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants in Antigua and shared helpful safety advice about both Antigua and Guatemala City. Even in heavy traffic, Roberto stayed calm, patient, and drove very safely. By the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than just a driver. We have stayed in touch, and we are so grateful we had him for this experience. We highly recommend Roberto to anyone traveling in Guatemala!

Unfortunately, I was unable to make this ride. My flight was delayed and missed my connecting flight. I gave the agency a 10 hours notice that I would be delayed a day, they provided a refund instantly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, they were already sold out for the following day so I had to find another ride, however, that is by no ways their fault. I appreciated their prompt refund.

Our driver Diego was awesome! Our arrival time into the airport was delayed so we figured we would have to reschedule a ride, but we were wrong! Diego waited 40 minutes for us and greeted us with a sign with my name on it. The directions to meet him were very clear and easy to follow. He drove us from the airport to Antigua. Exquisite cultural experience…SIX STARS!!!!

We spent a magical evening with Chef Wilfredo, learning, cooking and dining in his beautiful home with stunning city views. He carefully planned a traditional menu and explained Mayan traditions and flavours. Chef Wilfredo speaks good English and is politely attentive to all guest needs. We enjoyed a three course meal with Mayan beverages, serenaded by traditional music. No special cooking ability is required, just openness to the new experience. Chef Wilfredo is a true gentleman and an expert in his field. It was a privilege to receive his specialist knowledge about traditional Mayan recipes and flavours. An exquisite dining and cultural experience that we can’t recommend highly enough! Safety note: Chef Wilfredo picked us up personally from our hotel in his own vehicle and his home is located in a safe district of the city with a high level of security on the garage, entrance and elevator. This cultural experience is probably the safest evening activity available in the city. We were a group of two ladies and had no security concerns of any kind while we were with Chef Wilfredo.
