In Beaune, one of Burgundy’s great vineyard owners was a hospital for the poor. Its wine is still auctioned every November in a market hall you’ll stand in on this self-guided walking tour. This audio tour takes you through Burgundy’s wine capital from its north gate to the house of its dukes. Along the way you will hear how a wine merchant escaped, about a cannon-proof tower that ended up full of wine, and which statue lost the very object that explains its subject. There’s no guide and no group. The Beaune audio tour works offline, so you start when you like, pause for a tasting, and pick up again later. Made for curious travelers who want the stories and history that goes beyond the tasting notes. Over 30,000 travelers have used our self-guided tours, and the tour comes with a full refund guarantee.
