*Note: Elizabeth is only available from May to November 1, 2025, and then again next year, from May to November 2026.* We apologize for the inconvenience. Why This Experience is Truly Once-in-a-Lifetime Imagine hearing "Edelweiss" sung by Maria von Trapp's granddaughter at the very locations where the real family lived and the iconic movie was filmed. Picture standing in Mirabell Gardens - not with a tour guide holding an umbrella - but with Elisabeth herself, who carries the von Trapp legacy in her voice, her stories, and her heart. This is access that money cannot usually buy. While thousands of tourists shuffle through Salzburg on standard Sound of Music tours every year, only a privileged few will ever experience the authentic von Trapp story told by someone who lived it. Elisabeth isn't reciting memorized facts from a script - she's sharing her grandmother's legacy, her family's truth, and the real story behind the Hollywood magic.

A private day for your own group only, for river cruise guests docked in Passau or Linz. Your local driver-guide collects you at the ship and brings you back in time for boarding. Up to 6 guests per vehicle. In Salzburg we walk the old town together: Mozart's birthplace on the Getreidegasse, the Cathedral, the Mirabell Gardens from the Sound of Music, Hellbrunn Palace and the views of the fortress. If you would rather see the lakes and mountains of the Salzkammergut, we plan the day that way instead. Good to know: it is about 1.5 to 2 hours each way by car, so the day runs about 10 hours. Tell us your ship's arrival and all-aboard times and we plan around them.

Imagine yourself stepping through cobblestone streets where Mozart's childhood laughter still echoes, then moments later breathing Alpine air so crisp it clears your mind while gazing across pristine lakes that mirror heaven itself. This isn't another rushed city tour followed by a drive; it's your personal journey through Austria's soul, where baroque splendor meets nature's cathedral in perfect harmony. Your local guide doesn't just show you Salzburg's highlights; they share family stories passed down through generations, reveal hidden courtyards where locals still gather as they did centuries ago, and guide you to lake viewpoints that make your heart skip a beat. While tour buses race between photo stops, you'll savor authentic moments, feeling ancient stone beneath your fingertips in cathedral walls, hearing your footsteps on paths where pilgrims walked for over a thousand years, and watching Alpine light dance across waters so clear you can see fish swimming in crystal depths.

A private day for your own group only, planned around what you want to see, with a local driver-guide who picks you up at your Salzburg hotel. Up to 6 guests per vehicle. Build your day from Salzburg's old town and Mozart's birthplace, the Mirabell Gardens, the fortress, the Salzkammergut lakes, Hallstatt or the Eagle's Nest above Berchtesgaden. A day of about 8 hours fits the old town plus one of these trips out: for example Salzburg and Hallstatt, or Salzburg and the Eagle's Nest, but not both. Tell us your interests when you book and we suggest the best route for the season and the weather. We stop for photos wherever you like and recommend the local places for lunch.

A private day for the two of you, with a local driver-guide and a glass of Austrian Sekt to welcome you in the car. In Salzburg we walk the old town together: the Cathedral, the lanes of the Getreidegasse and the Mirabell Gardens, with time up at the fortress and on the Moenchsberg for the view over the rooftops. Then we drive out to the lakes, to Fuschlsee, St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang on Lake Wolfgang, and back to Salzburg for the evening. We reserve a table for you at a romantic restaurant for dinner (the meal itself is paid on the spot). If you would like a horse-drawn carriage ride through the old town, tell us and we arrange it as an extra.

We take you to the RIGHT Christmas markets – the ones actually open on your tour date, including hidden local favorites tourists never find. See 4-6 spectacular markets from UNESCO World Heritage Salzburg to the floating Peace Light on Lake Wolfgang. Flexible itinerary, authentic experiences, unforgettable scenery – this is Austrian Christmas done right.
