What a tremendous excursion. Theo was awesome and so was our driver. The pick up was early and the conversation while riding was very informative and entertaining. For the value, this is the best excursion I've ever been on. Each stop was the right amount of time, the meal was excellent and everyone at each of the stops were gracious. When I return to Punta Cana, I will absolutely do this excursion again. Great job Theo and thanks for a great day!

To say this was an incredible tour is putting it lightly! Robinson, Genesis and our driver were truly nothing short of amazing. They were all kind, generous, thoughtful and really considerate of everyones needs. They all made the day one to remember and brag about! The entire day was filled with laughter, dancing and pure enjoyment. I am VERY thankful and blessed to have been apart of this remarkable and memorable day. THANK YOU ALL!!!

This Experience was phenomenal. I learned so much about the culture of Punta Cana. Mr. Robinson was very fun, nice, informative and very patient. We played music in the tour bus and he was nice till buy everyone water and pop. I would highly recommend his services to any one to learn about the culture. His daughter was very sweet and she was welcoming and so was Mr.Robinson.

This experience is one of the most amazing experiences I had in my life, Teo was amazing during this experience, he’s so polite and I love the fact that he speaks multiple languages. He catered to all of us and showed us a great time. I learned so much!

This experience was fun and interesting to see how the people live and make money for themselves and their family

Our guide was wonderful and the stops were fantastic. However, it took us 2 hours to pick up all the guests from SEVEN stops! And then they crammed in 18 people in to a 12 passenger van. It was incredibly uncomfortable!! On top of that they blasted their music as loud as it would go. We booked this tour thinking we’d be back by 1pm as stated, However, we did not get back to our resort until after 4pm. We even asked at our last stop if we could take an Uber back because we were only 20 minutes away. The guide insisted he’d have us back within 30 minutes….but you guessed it, it was actually another hour……and he could tell we (and other guests) were irritated so the driver drove like a maniac trying to get everyone back quickly.
The stops were great but it was way too long in a crammed/hot van.

This experience was a true authentic cultural taste of the Dominican experience. Our guide really loved sharing his culture with us while also taking part in the overall experience too. Even the ride to different locations provided a lesson about the Dominican Republic and its people.
Angel_H, Jun 2026
Tito our driver and Robinson our guide were amazing. Robinson took the time to explain everything and we had a thorough overview of Higuey and Playa Macao. The lunch was authentic and amazing, one of the highlights of the tour. We rolled our own cigar and they made my 15yr girl at ease during the horse riding. We only had 30 mins at the beach but was fine to see and get our feet wet, the water was very rough so wasn’t looking to get in anyway. Overall I recommend this excursion. Pickup was at 730am at our resort and returned almost at 2pm.

This was a wonderful experience. Robinson and his family were absolutely amazing! No blah, blah, Mickey Mouse! It was the real deal and very eye opening! I 100% recommend this tour. My only critique is to update the description. This is a full day tour not a half day
Shalon_J, Jun 2026
Wester did a great job showing us the various sights, and explaining all of the pertinent details such as the Dominican lifestyle, food preparation, and the beautiful Catholic Church we visited. The trip started with horseback riding, and ended with a delicious lunch and time at the beach. I highly recommend this tour. You get your money’s worth, and more.

Trip highlight for sure! Our family especially loved traveling through the heart of the Dominican, walking through the market, and learning about chocolate/ coffee harvesting and preparation. Also, the beach was breathtakingly beautiful. If you want to immerse yourself in the culture, then you need to do this trip.

This excursion was undoubtedly the highlight of our holiday! We were exceptionally well looked after by our tour guide, Robinson, along with his children, Joel and Yeresy, who helped make the experience feel incredibly personal and welcoming.
The day began with horseback riding, something we can now proudly tick off our bucket list! From there, we visited local markets and shops, a traditional church, and an authentic Dominican home, where Robinson gave a fascinating and detailed explanation of the cocoa and coffee production process.
We then visited a cigar factory, where we had the opportunity to roll and smoke our own cigars, which was a unique and memorable experience.
A traditional Dominican lunch was included midway through the tour, and throughout the day Robinson kept us entertained, informed, and well hydrated. Having his children involved made the tour feel even more intimate and genuine, as though we were being welcomed into their family's way of life rather than simply joining a standard excursion.
The tour ended at the stunning Macao Beach, which was absolutely beautiful and, best of all, there wasn't any sargassum in sight!
If you're looking for an authentic Dominican Republic experience, this tour is a must. The day wasn't overly long. We spent around six hours on the road in total and genuinely don't have a single complaint. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! Worth the price and a great package! The Robinson family was spectacular! Would highly recommend!
Alexis_G, Jun 2026
I did this excursion solo and enjoyed getting to meet other people that joined as well! My favorite was horse back riding with Mountain View’s & going to a locals home and getting to see the process of fresh coffee beans & cacao powder. Also, TRY THE MAMAJUANA ! It’s so good!! Robinson was an incredible tour guide and so funny! I’d book another excursion with him. Sandy did an incredible job getting us to each location safely!!
Scott_M, Jun 2026
We loved seeing more than just the fantasy world of our upscale resort. We love getting out and exploring and meeting authentic people.
Makenzie_W, Jun 2026
I had such an amazing time! It was better than I imagined. We explored so much and I felt like I learned a lot to be a tourist. I felt like I was a native based on how welcoming Robinson was and all the places we visited. Shout out to Sandy as well for driving us to all the places we visited. Would definitely recommend.

Great tour with Sande and Franklin! Lots to see but also lots of time on the bus. The 5 hours begins when you get to the horses, which is after all of the pickups at resorts. The beach was beautiful and the cigar factory is neat

The thing to know about any tourist activity or operator around Punta Cana is that they will all be going to the same place and doing the same things (just at different times and variations). That said, I've done a lot of tours around the world and here's my quick overview:
The Good:
- The Guide: very friendly and had a great, positive energy. He was lovely.
- There's a stop out in the countryside where you get a sense of how people live, how chocolate and coffee are made, and it's designed for you to purchase those goods (and generating income back into a country like the DR is a good thing of course).
- There's a stop at a cigar making shop where you can 'make' your own. It was enjoyable, but brief.
The OK:
- You go to a cathedral. It's from the 1950s and looks nice, but they ask for a donation that goes to the Vatican (do with that what you will). I skipped the inside tour, stayed outside, and got enough of the experience that way.
- You stop at a food market that provides real world view of the daily lives of the locals. Make of that what you will. You get an overview of spices and herbs from a local vendor in hopes you buy some.
The Bad:
-The tour starts with a horse ride. It's about 10 minutes around a field and the horses are in a sad and malnourished state. This is a part of the tour I would definitely cut from the day -- it is not enjoyable nor do you feel good about contributing to the place running it.
- You make an unnecessary stop at a souvenir store -- wasn't for me.
- The tour ends on a public beach. This also feels unnecessary as most people staying in Punta Cana are staying on or near a beach. It's also full of vendors as you arrive trying to sell you stuff. Would have simply preferred to just go home instead of pushing it.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed and balanced review of your experience. We truly appreciate both your positive comments and your constructive feedback.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the friendliness and positive energy of your guide, as well as the visits to the countryside and the cigar-making demonstration. Our goal is to give our guests an authentic glimpse into Dominican culture, traditions, and local life, while also supporting local communities and small businesses.
We also appreciate your observations regarding some of the stops on the itinerary. Every traveler has different interests, and while many guests enjoy the beach, market, souvenir, and cultural stops, we understand that not every part of the experience appeals equally to everyone. Your feedback helps us continue evaluating and improving our tours.
Regarding the horseback riding activity, we take comments about animal welfare very seriously and will share your concerns with the provider to ensure proper standards are maintained.
Thank you again for choosing to explore the Dominican Republic with us. We value your perspective and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another adventure in the future.
Warm regards,
The Jhoraji Tour Operador Team

We had a great day seeing local culture. The driver who looked just like Mike Tirico, picked us up in a nice ac van. We went horseback riding and then to a souvenir shot where we had free mamajuwana shots. Then we went to the local market that was very shetch but authentic. Lots of new smells… lots of raw chickens. Then we went Basilica that was gorgeous. Then we went to a Dominican house and saw a family and the lady taught us about chocolate and coffee, then we got some authentic lunch that was awesome. Best avocado I ever had in my life. There was a river we went see. The country has lots and lots of litter. Then we went to cigar factory and got to roll our own cigars and had more free rum shots. My wife loved the rum cream and local candy. Then we went to a beautiful public beach. Mike brought us back to our resort. It lasted about 7 hours. Mile kept us safe and entertained all day. 100% recommend.
