Our guide was great…waited a few extra minutes for us to get off the tender ship from the cruise ship. The pace was quick, but not hurried. We got to see a lot in a short amount of time, which was perfect for having to take water shuttles to and from the cruise ship.

Must do experience with Skye!

Melinda_H, Nov 2025
From start to finish the Hobart Highlights day tour was a perfect blend of sights and information. Immediately on meeting our friendly guide Skye, the tone was set for a relaxed day. Starting with enough time to wander the amazing Salamanca markets then up to the top of Mount Wellington, Skye kept us engaged with informative commentary and friendly banter. This small group tour accommodated everyone's interests and provided flexibility. We had a fantastic day.

Thanks for sharing your experience! We would love to welcome you back on another Tassie adventure!

A better choice

Julie_P, Nov 2025
Better value for the same experience as the shipboard excursion. Sights that we have not seen, despite several visits to Hobart and Port Arthur. Very pleased that we booked this tour.

We had a great time. We saw some of the sites over a relatively short time. The fish and chips were fantastic,

Great taste of the experiences available in the area. Need to be mobile enough to climb in and out of a small Bess. Also some of the stops require walking up hills on dirt tracks.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it is great to hear you enjoyed the range of stops. We appreciate the note about mobility since it can help other travellers prepare. Hope your next visit to Tassie brings more good moments!

Great tour company

Brilliant tour - Mark and the team are fantastic, thanks for the well humoured and entertaining tour. Very knowledgeable and kept on time (important when on a cruise port day!). Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good tour

Tasman peninsula tour

Margaret_T, Dec 2024
We did the Port Arthur Tasman Tour which was very good. We did the 12pm tour so had lunch at Doolishus which was delicious then rock formations, a chocolate shop and lavender farm. The tour is structured for people arriving via cruise ship and our tour guide Nathan was very conscious of this. Nathan kept us all entertained with his vast animal and geology information. Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tale of convicts

Karin_S, Jan 2024
Our guide, Mark, was knowledgeable about the history of Tasmania and made it come alive for us. Demons Land, I will always remember him telling us the story of the convicts and how not one of them escaped. Hearing about the line of dogs that were tied at intervals to prevent escape, and then seeing the sculpture was mesmerizing. Good job!

Cruise ship tour

Jodie_C, Dec 2023
Tassie Tours were such a great company to deal with they went above and beyond to make our tour happen when the cruise ship didn’t dock there they came and picked us up and drove us to Port Arthur with Pete who was so informative about Tasmania . Highly recommended

Tour started late but covered the bases

David_S, Nov 2023
Our 3-hr tour started a half-hour late, which put some pressure on us to get back to the ship on time. Because of that, the beginning of the tour was a bit rushed and the driving was noticeably quick. Perhaps because of that, the guides were focused on the road and didn't say much about the scenery we were passing or Tasmania in general. As an example, very little was said until after we left the first stop (a lavender farm). However, the guides did say more at other stops and readily answered any questions. The tour eventually covered all the stops and dropped us off with 30 minutes to spare before the last shuttle left.

Splendid Excursion

Tom_C, Jan 2023
Trent of Tassie Tours was our tour guide. He was very personable, very obliging and very knowledgeable. Trent escorted us with commentary on the various places we stopped at. Trent was happy to talk about side topics and answered all our questions. We were never rushed and the whole enjoyed the collective experiences. We did not have a deadline for returning and Trent was happy to run over time to ensure we had a good and full experience. Great excursion and well done Tassie Tours and Viator. Very competent guide and an interesting day.

Port Arthur Tour

Errol_H, Jan 2023
Our driver was excellent and made our tour very informative. We enjoyed the opportunity to do a short sight seeing hike along with the stops for food and chocolate. The lavender farm was very interesting. Loved the whole tour.

Sad day

Karla_S, Dec 2020
We did not get to do it .they changed the time on us. They offered a later one but would not work for us. I was dealing with a older lady in the group this time. Not sure if she ever got reimburse for it.

Good Tour

Janine_J, Mar 2020
Our tour guide (Peter) was pleasant and interesting. We enjoyed the natural features - The lavender farm was mildly interesting - best part was the lavender milkshake. The chocolate factory was mildly interesting.

Best tour

Great tour, nice small group and our guide, David, made the day lively and informative. Saw absolutely beautiful sights.

Five Stars for Tassie Tour

Myrna_L, Feb 2020
Tassie Tour was fantastic! Our guide David was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was a sunny day with blue skies. Fabulous! Eaglehawk Neck, Tasman Arch, Devil’s Kitchen, the Doo-lishus food truck with the seafood brimming from the paper cone. Yummy. And they accept VISA credit card.

A Disappointment

GSLANZ47, Feb 2020
After visiting Hobart and going on a 6-8 self guided tour of the area, this tour in Point Arthur (60-70 miles away) was a disappointment. It consisted of a couple of nice stops overlooking the sea and coastline but unfortunately more time was spent on getting to those spots and stopping for fish & chips or chocolates along the way. Sitting on the bus waiting for others held up in food lines is not good. We've been on many Viator excursions and realize some are better than others, this just happened to be the worst.

Response from Host, Feb 2020

Hi, Im sorry but i don't think you travelled with our company. I have flagged this with Viator. The furthest we go from Port Arthur is 20 minutes (Pirates Bay lookout). The tour then starts making it's way back towards Port Arthur with stops along the way. In regards to food line this cannot be helped when there are cruise ships in port with 2-3000 passengers then taking into consideration the time of the year (peak season) people that are already travelling in Tasmania. But to be honest i haven't encountered this problem yet. I believe the 3 hour tour length is the perfect amount of time as it also allows plenty of time for you to enjoy the Port Arthur Historic site. Regards Patrick
