See Hanoi with Ivy!

We booked a private tour so that we could stay longer or shorter at a site. Our guide, Ivy, was great and would remind us that we had control over our day. She also asked if there was anything we specifically wanted to buy and we stopped at a store to get dried jack fruit! It was a full day and we enjoyed it all!

Best option to see Hanoi

I chose this tour because it was advertised as being available in all languages. We booked it in Spanish, and to our surprise, the guide spoke it perfectly. I suppose that’s not very common in Vietnam. In addition, his professionalism and knowledge allowed us to enjoy the tour immensely. The night before, he was already messaging us to remind us and suggested we leave half an hour earlier to avoid long lines at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. It was a very wise suggestion. We are older adults, and our guide Luis (I believe his real Vietnamese name is Thuy, but I’m not sure) made the tour very adaptable to our needs, and we always felt very safe with him. I absolutely recommend this tour. Hanoi is definitely worth an 8-hour visit.

Our guide Michael gave us a really full day of Hanoi. He took into consideration the sights we wanted to see as well as most of places his tour would normally visit.

Very Historical Tour.

The tour included some very historical sites in the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of each of the sites, but left out stops that were supposed to be part of the tour. There is more walking than expected, but there were no hills so it wasn’t too hard.

Our tour includes the Coffee stop in the afternoon but you wanted to have some more time to discover the Train street and the guide had move the coffee stop to the train street place to wait for the train leading to the fact that your coffee stop in the afternoon was not covered but we did pay for the coffee at the train street and this is no lack of activity from our side but you should be clearly mentioned about this as in fact this would effect our tour. This we will ask tour guide to explain better and also for traveler to know what will be missed if you lengthen a visit to a spot. 2. Walking is mentioned in the activities after lunch as we are visiting 2 places just 3 minutes walk from each other. This info is clearly indicated in WHAT TO EXPECT part of our travel plan. Excellent Hanoi private city tour; fully recommended for couples or people traveling with limited time or if you love personalized travel. Our guide Ha Hoang was very attentive, knowledgeable about the culture, and flexible with the agenda since we had to adjust due to long lines at the mausoleum. You get a private car for most of the day. Lunch was very tasty and plentiful. You finish the day with a Cyclo tour in the old quarter to get to know a lot of the streets and shops. Overall a great experience for first timers in Hanoi.

Joseph did an excellent job with the tour. We saw so much and took hundreds of pictures. There was a lot of walking, and we were surprised at how long the tour lasted.

For the money I paid I would expected more. I first asked for a specific translator and if they speak English that would be great but was asked 3pm the day before the tour and then told it would be extra for non English guide which I thought it was a done deal. I was arriving that afternoon and didn’t see email at like 5pm and responded with questions but got no response. This was huge disappointment. Second, I would expect that guide would be more knowledgeable about the history. I have been on tours where the guide provides history while heading to destination and there was none provided. When I asked the answer was bit off. Third, for one of the locations - I didn’t know there was a dress code and nothing was mentioned in my email at 3pm… and also they didn’t realize that you can’t bring snacks which was in one of the bags which could have been easily put in the car and avoided. In the end, the guide was nice and apologizing. However for the money paid - I would expect lack of communication to be a huge disappointment…. And maybe better to go via a big tour rather than private.

We only sent you the email to confirm everything that you would need to pay that extra but you refused to pay as you thought it was just simple that you just PUT YOUR REQUEST and then we had to arrange at our own cost and that "YOU THINK IT IS FREE AND OUR JOB TO PROVIDE THE GUIDE AT OTHER LANGUAGE REQUESTED WITHOUT ANY EXTRA". We think that the indication was not clear enough in the tour details and we will try our best to make the tour with better appearance to other to plan your trip better. Very bad and dishonest tour agency

The local tour operator was simply dishonest with this booking. Paying so much for a Private tour which indicates it’s with Guide and Driver. During lunch, the driver disappears and I am told I have to walk for the rest of the day. The tour operator calls and stays yelling. His program sent to me on Watsapp is different from what I booked on viator. The tour guide then has to book the local taxi and pay to bring me to the next destination - waiting and wasting time. I have all the photo proof. Do NOT book this Dishonest tour. They should be black listed.

Dear Traveler, This lady booked the tour via viator herself - when we showed the WHAT TO EXPECT out to her she said it is different tour she booked. We contacted 3 times Viator support and they confimed the tour link - the booking and what I have sent her was the same. Viator staff promised to call to client to explained but it never happened. The lady tried many ways to complaint: guide was few minutes late, driver not serving her 100m walk. Event created story that the driver and guide did not appear. We contacted Viator again and again the staff confirmed we can reject the refund as we do nothing wrong. And again a promise to contact client about the matter. To our future customers, please be aware that WE ONLY DO THINGS WE SHOW UP IN OUR ITINERARY. PLEASE do not use all ways to travel without spending money. Should not try to create stories. AGAIN: We provide what we mentioned in our tour if you want special things please contact us in advance Or let our guide know. Super tour even in the rain. excellent lunch and Thu Ngo's English was perfect so all questions were answered and little unexpected extras made this day special. Use her if possible to see all of the city in one day.
