This food tour was fabulous. We started in the streets sampling some dishes. Then we were driven to a restaurant where we shared a huge meal mezze style. There were endless options for appetizers and entrees. We actually liked the food better than what we had in Greece. The dessert was also very good. We then were driven to a rooftop bar, with a gorgeous view of a mosque. Where we had coffee/tea and were able to watch a whirling dervish performance. Ebru was the best guide, very informative and knowledgeable. This was the best thing we did in Istanbul.

Şule is everything you could ever want in a local guide. If you show up solo, just know you’re leaving with at least one new friend from Istanbul. The tour gives you a look at some authentic and local stops I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. I had such a lovely time and ate some really great food. I feel like I blinked and the tour was over! Thank you Şule for showing how special and magical Istanbul can be!

Great guide Zeynep! But lots of changes from what was advertised! Meeting place changed, 1.5 hours later and not dropped back at hotel as promised. Food was great as was Zeynep the guide

We love this tour because it gives you an idea of traditional food and drink. For me personally it’s not an unusual experience because I make the same food every day but it’s so good to see and feel the difference .Zeynep our tour guide was very nice person and group was very friendly

We had an amazing time in the tour - food was super tasty and the guide took us to places we wouldn't have found ourselves. The dinner is a big spread of all different things, so you can sample a bit of everything but we specially liked the kebab of kebabs and the guest salad.

This experience with our wonderful Zeynep was one of the best food tours I have had. Her passion for food and vibrant personality made everyone feel so welcome. The rooftop bar views were wow. The feast at the 140 year old restaurant was delicious. Tip don't eat before, there is so much food. Will recommend to anyone I know travelling to Turkey 🇹🇷.

A lot of delicious food. The dinner food was amazing. I loved everything about it. Our tour guide Zey was very informative. Amazing views at the rooftop bar and the dervish dancer was fantastic. At the end of the evening we were dropped off near our hotel which is also a big plus.

Sule, our guide has an obvious love for her home city of Istanbul and this came across in wanting to share some of the culinary traditions and secrets in the colourful and atmospheric places we visited, with with some extra special views. She was well respected with the different establishments we visited and very patient with the different mix of our group. Sule was a very welcoming and knowledgeable guide, and was able to answer any questions relating to the tour, Turkey and Istanbul.

Sule was our guide and did an excellent job she made sure we all knew where to go to meet her and she was very knowledgeable and helpful with where and what to eat along with any other questions we had. Highly recommend this informative and delicious tour! Our guide, Suile was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We visited several food destinations, where we enjoyed local cuisine and learned about the culture and history of Istanbul. Be sure to ask for Sule, she was fantastic!

Our group had a wonderful time with Şule tonight. I am quite familiar with Turkish food, but Istanbul is such a big city that you would not know where to start to get really authentic food that is not just for tourists.
We started with a cig kofte tasting at a popular stand — the flavors were amazing. Then we walked to a lokman store and tasted specialty “Turkish delights”. Then, we we went in a van to have tea on a rooftop overlooking Suleymaniye mosque and the Bosphorus. We ended our evening with a multi-course meal of mezze, different kebabs and kunefeh and of course, tea. The restaurant also made a special meal for the vegetarian in our group.
I highly recommend the tour because it takes you to places that are out of the way of the usual tourist spots. The view of the city from the rooftop gives you a perspective of the European and Asian sides of the city.
Şule took the time to explain the food we were eating and answered other questions about Turkish culture. She truly enjoys being a guide.

A fabulous glimpse into some highlights of foods and delights available in Istanbul. And whom better to experience it with than with a small group led by an amazing local, Sule.
Tantalize the tastebuds with a sampler from a couple different stops. One with unbelievable sunset views. And the last, an endless meal you will never forget.
I enjoyed this tour so much in June 2025, I returned in May 2026 because the experience is so memorable, I couldn't pass up the chance to experience it again. I hope you will always remember it too.

Zeynep was an amazing host! Even after our flight was delayed she kept in contact with us the whole time and once we arrived she made us feel so welcome! Would absolutely recommend booking this experience. Good was really good, tried a lot of local dishes and the famous Turkish tea.

Wonderful night largely thanks to Zeynep who made it so fun. Not too much walking thankfully as private transport to rooftop and restaurant. I had great food selection as a vegetarian. Highly recommend this tour. And amazing unexpected bonus was drop off very near my Hotel so I didn’t have to navigate questionable taxi drivers late at night.

Zaynep was a wonderful host, and this tour was an absolute delight. She was very communicative throughout and incredibly accommodating in helping arrange transfer assistance, which made everything seamless. This was a great tour. Our guide Bugra was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the areas we went to and the foods we tried. The street food that we started with, the trip to the rooftop location to see Istanbul just before sunset and the fantastic dinner with a wide range of regional foods we shared with the rest of the group made this tour one that we wish we had done earlier in our visit. Highly recommended.
