Mt. Takao is a spiritual mountain located west of Tokyo. It is about one hour from Shinjuku by train. There is an old temple named Yakuoin, built in the 7th century. The mountain was considered sacred, and its nature has been preserved for more than 1300 years. This mountain has various hiking trails, some along the river and some along the ridge.
