A great way to learn about the DR
A great tour that shows you some of the culture and life of everyday DR locals. Also it’s a small group trip - only 9 people were in our group. We were picked up on time, were driven to a horse ranch where we were able to do a short horse ride, visited a souvenir store and a local market in Higuey, visited a catholic cathedral, went to a cigar factory, a local river, Macao Beach and perhaps my favourite - a traditional Dominican house where we tried different fruits and learned about the production of chocolate and coffee.
Wester was a fantastic tour guide - patient, hilarious, and able to explain the culture as he drove between the stops.
Tips:
- wear comfortable running shoes as there is a bit of walking and the streets of Higuey are a bit uneven
- bring a swimsuit for Macao Beach
- have a big breakfast - lunch was filling but 7am pick up is an early start and you don’t eat until about 12noon

Great excursion
From beginning to end the excursion was great. One of the best excursions I have been on. The night before the company let us know what time our pick up time was which was great and very accurate. Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable about the Dominican Republic, he spoke English, Spanish, and French. I can’t remember his name but I know he was a police officer, hopefully if you go you get him :). It was very nice seeing outside of the tourist area, we went to the famous Catholic Church, a school, a shop, the market, a lady house, Macao beach, and as a group we decided not to do horse back riding. We had lunch at this restaurant which was originally supposed to be at the lady’s house but that didn’t happen unfortunately due to certain circumstances but our driver made it right and we still got lunch. Overall the experience was a 5/5. Highly recommend!

Fantastic adventure for the first time in DR.
Fantastic tour, had a blast the entire day. Our guide Joel was great, very informative on the history and facts about the Dominican Republic during the drive to the different locations.
The most magical part of the whole thing was Los Haitises national park, seeing the birds flying over the islands was something else!
Wouldn't hesitate to do it again, truly made my trip.

ATV tour
This was a wonderful experience! My family enjoyed it and the views are beautiful. The tour guides were awesome and explained everything before we left. If you go, please make sure you have goggles and a bandana, they have some available for purchase. The coffee was delicious. This tour is more expensive than others but well worth the cost. Recommended!!

Great Way to Discover the Dominican Republic
I had a great experience on this Santo Domingo tour! Our tour guide, Darius, was fun, energetic, and incredibly knowledgeable. He spoke three languages fluently and did an excellent job explaining the history of the Dominican Republic in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does.
A special thanks as well to our driver, who drove safely and professionally throughout the entire journey, making the long trip comfortable and stress-free.
I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about the country’s rich history while having an enjoyable day. Definitely worth it!

More than what I expected!!!
This trip is a wonderful way to see how the locals live, taste some wonderful local cuisine. The food was awesome.. We had a good time with the rum tasting the mamawanna, the coffee and chocolate farms. Robinson our tour guide was WONDERFUL! His knowledge is top notch and he is so polite. By the end of the day he and Teo (the driver) felt like family. I definitely recommend taking this tour. It is also a REALLY value. You get more then what you pay for.

The excursion was...
The excursion was excellent. From the moment Chris picked us up at the hotel, he provided information and explained the history of the place. The views along the way were breathtaking. The ranch and horseback riding, the basilica, Higüey, the Dominican aunt's house where we saw the cacao process, and the food—it was a very cultural tour, just as I wanted. The service was excellent. 100% recommended.

Boogie Woogie
Really fantastic experience, we certainly got the right kind of messy in the boogies but the coffee tasting and shops, the water caves and Macao Beach were absolutely stunning. Highlight of the trip - get used to saying no to the locals but please do support the community in what you enjoy. The coffee is delicious!

Great excursion for a family!
This was a fantastic tour! Gary and Johnny were great guides. They were fun and entertaining, but also kept everyone organized when areas got busy. They made sure to give us a heads up before we’re would encounter an onslaught of crazy merchants and gave us tips on dealing with them!

It’s a long day but worth it! Our tour guides Sexy Papi and PJ were amazing. Our shuttle driver Cielo was hauling butt to make the travel times are short as possible which we really appreciated. The zip lining was so much fun and beautiful scenery. All the workers made me feel very comfortable (first time zip liner, it’s intimidating! ) the monkeys were so cute and friendly. And last but not least the buggies were a fun way to wrap up the day, luckily the DR hadn’t been getting too much rain so didn’t get muddy! Just be prepared to be away from your resort for up to 12 hours. They had plenty of water but glad we brought extra bottles and snacks.
