What are people saying about Curacao
SarahampRob, June 2026
One of the most memorable days!
My wife and I recently (June) stayed at Sandals in Curacao. We wanted to explore the island and were going to rent a car but they were sold out.
We went online and found a private tour where you could create your day long custom tour.
My wife and I wanted to explore Willemstad, snorkel with a chance to witness sea turtles, a nice waterside place to eat seafood and places to make photo memories.
Well, we could not have imagined what was ahead when we were picked up in our own private van with Alberto at the helm and Anita providing the color and background to our journey.
We learned Anita had come from the Netherland over 25 years ago and Alberto was born and raised on the island. The both of them were so nice and inviting and Anita's knowledge was willingly shared and my wife and I learned so much history and how life is on the island.
Our first stop was Willemstad and the beautiful colorful buildings and Queen Emma Bridge. We learned on a walking tour about the history of the government and parliamentary buildings.
Anita left us for a bit so we could explore and shop.
We boarded our van for a tour through the city's neighborhoods with Anita giving us background on the religious, cultural and lifestyle of folks on the island.
We then had a stop at the Flamingo sanctuary where we were able to see Flamingos in the wild!
In communication before our excursion we had asked to go to a spot where we had the best chance of seeing Sea Turtles. Well, it just so happens Anita is a volunteer with the Island's Sea Turtle conservation program. She brought us to Daaibooi Baai (Bay).
Anita explained if she is able, (meaning small groups, small van tours) she brings guests to this little beach. She says it's more locals and we'd have a great chance at seeing turtles.
My wife and I donned our gear and walked towards the shore. People were standing in the water looking for turtles. Anita spotted one right away just feet away from several people who didn't see it. Clearly Anita knew what she was looking for.
After about a half hour of seeing a few colorful fish along the rocks, my wife and I headed back to shore feeling that seeing a turtle in person underwater would have to wait.
As I approached the shore I stood up and took my mask off when my wife poked at me. There was a green turtle who had come up from behind us. I put my mask on and we were able to swim with the beautiful creature before it disappeared into darker water. Woo Hoo!
We then stopped at Christoffel National Park and Plantation Knip. We had the pleasure to meet Anita's son who is a Park Ranger!
Shete Boka National Park was our next stop where you can see waves crashing a spouting skyward and a natural bridge that crosses the jagged, rocky shore.
We next headed for lunch. As I communicated with a representative of Samurai tours prior to tour day, my wife and I wanted some local seafood on the water. Anita, did not disappoint.
We stopped at West Punt and Playa Forti, an old fort now a restaurant. We were escorted to our reserved table for an amazing lunch and local cliff divers!
After lunch we made our way back to our resort and Alberto was amazing at stopping or slowing so we could photo sites along the way1
Our last stop was a stop at Senior&CO Curacao distillery and some wonderful samples.
After 8 hours that passed like 20 minutes, we were back at our resort thanking Anita and Alberto for a most unforgettable day!
Processing this journey days later we are grateful for such an opportunity we had.
If this is indicative of all Samurai tours, you won't be disappointed.

Our tour guide, Anita, is...
Our tour guide, Anita, is what made the trip so memorable. I would do the trip again and again if I knew I would get her. The resort restaurant at the beach stop was incredibly slow and over priced. Anita made up for it and then some. Very knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating. Thank you!

A wonderful tour!! 10/10!!
This was our first cruise and first “Viator” booking. I am so happy I did my research and followed through with this excursion! Jeremiah was wonderful - even my two boys were sad the day ended. Highly recommend this tour - you get to see so much more than what you would see with the regular cruise line excursions. Bring an underwater camera for the turtles! We forgot ours at home - whoops!

What A Day!
Papi began correspondence via WhatApp about a week before we arrived in Curaçao. Fortunately he reminded us of things to bring to make our trip most enjoyable. He picked us up on time, it was early, but he brought the energy.
Our tour had 6 people which made it easy to relax and enjoy meeting new people. The beaches were beautiful, the food we ate at lunch was delicious. We were given insider information about different beaches, and how to get the best stay.
Papi stopped along the way allowing us to take photos.
We highly recommend touring Curaçao’s beautiful beaches with Papi.

Anita made this tour the...
Anita made this tour the best and unforgettable. She was so knowledgeable on the culture and history! I had trouble spotting the turtles but her expertise helped me find them. She strongly protects the turtles and therefore this tour felt even better! Anita made curaçao stand out, the best out of the “ABC” islands. 100% would do again and I would encourage you to book this if you are on a cruise. The driver and her made it one of their top priorities to make sure we got back on time. Which was never an issue, we got back almost 3 hours before departure.

Perfect first trip to Curacao overview
We really enjoyed our tour of Curacao with Mike as our guide. There were just enough stops and the air conditioned bus was very comfortable. We only had 9 people in our group so that was a bonus. The lunch stop was enjoyable as well. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Curacao!

All the places we didn’t know we wanted to see!!!!
I booked this private tour because nothing carnival offered was interesting to me. I am so beyond happy that I did. We had a group of 4 people that all wanted to see different things. We were so lucky that Ray was our tour guide!!! He was the absolute best. He took us to all the places we wanted to see , took us to a great local place for lunch, and took us to places that we didn’t know we wanted to see. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that is going to Curaçao and wants to see all the great sights. Ray was very personable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He taught us so much about the island and history of it. Ray was just a fantastic guide overall and I was so very happy with his tour.

Curacao Excursion April 7, 2026
This was a very importative and exciting tour. Our guide was Casper who gave us facts about Curacao which made our tour all the more enjoyable. We were a party of 12 and I truly appreciated this tour. Casper was friendly and the stops made were authentic places in Curacao. We never felt rushed during this tour. The bus was clean and air conditioned! 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Island tour and tasting
Very easy to find the meeting point. Naomi was a great guide and very informative. I would have changed one thing. That would be that she walk with us through the town instead of sending us on our own. I think we missed some things that would have been of interest. She did explain things after the fact, but in the moment would have been good. Really good day though!

Good tour in Curaçao.
Bus was right on time at cruise port. Bob our tour guide was very informative. Open air bus. Hopefully good weather when you go. We had a beautiful day. Last stop at beach for an hour was relaxing. Blue Curaçao factory was fun. Good drinks there. Wish tour would have included aloe factory.

Fun, Easy Way to Explore Curacao
This tour was such a fun and easy way to see Curaçao, especially as a solo traveler. Our guide, Nelly, was amazing, super funny, knowledgeable, and full of personality. She really made the experience enjoyable and even helped take photos and videos for me in front of the famous Curaçao sign, which I appreciated so much.
The tour gives you a nice overview of the island, hitting key spots like the downtown area where you get time to walk around and explore on your own, then to the Curaçao liqueur distillery where you can sample small shots, and Mambo Beach. Mambo beach was pretty overcrowded when we went and you’ll have to pay extra to rent a chair.
One thing to note is that a lot of the sightseeing is more of a drive-by experience with information shared along the way, rather than extended stops. I do wish there was a bit more focus on history or even a museum stop to dive deeper into the culture.
Overall, I still really enjoyed the tour. It’s a great introduction to the island, especially if you’re short on time or traveling alone and want a guided way to explore.

Hato Caves, Turtles, and Beach Tour in Curaçao: 5 Stars!
Our experience on this tour was fantastic from start to finish. Lady, our guide, was so much fun and kept everyone laughing and engaged throughout the day. The tour company was extremely organized. Their agent met us inside the cruise terminal, took our names, and kept us updated on when the bus would arrive. Even though our tour was scheduled for 9 a.m., the bus arrived early, and the agent personally found us in the market and escorted us to the bus. It was seamless and stress-free.
The open-air bus was perfect for the island weather. Even in October, the constant breeze kept us comfortable the entire ride. Our first stop was the Hato Caves, and while waiting for our group to enter, we walked the short nature trail. The rock formations, cacti, and lizards along the path made it well worth the stroll. Inside the caves, groups are divided by language, so everyone gets a tour they can follow easily. The groups were a bit large, but it didn’t take away from the experience. Photography is limited because of the protected bats, but they do allow pictures deeper inside the cave.
We’ve toured caves across Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas, and Tennessee, but these were unlike any we’ve ever seen, with unique formations, tropical surroundings, and an incredible sense of history.
Next, we visited the turtle beach, located beside a small fishing camp. We saw several sea turtles, though they appeared sporadically and the area was a bit crowded. Since we had already seen plenty of turtles in Aruba, we took the chance to snorkel along the coast and were rewarded with an amazing variety of tropical fish.
The final stop was a beach with a bar and restaurant, where we spent two relaxing hours. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, as were the beach chairs. We brought our own snorkel gear, which I highly recommend for anyone cruising the ABC islands. Having it ready let us explore every snorkeling opportunity, and this beach turned out to be one of the best for marine variety. I even had a close encounter with a moray eel, which became one of the highlights of the entire trip.
This beach was spacious, peaceful, and easy to find a private spot. Honestly, I could have stayed there all day. The tour returned us right on schedule at 4 p.m., giving plenty of time before our ship’s 5 p.m. boarding.
Overall, this was an excellent tour for cruisers, well organized, perfectly paced, and a great way to see much of Curaçao in one unforgettable day.
