One of the best parts of the experience was seeing the island’s natural beauty up close. Along the trail we passed banana trees, mango trees loaded with fresh fruit, and even got to see unprocessed nutmeg in its natural form. Learning about how nutmeg is grown and prepared added a unique cultural touch to the tour that made it much more than just an ATV ride. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and shared interesting history about Layou and the surrounding communities, giving us a deeper appreciation for the island and its people. You could really feel the connection between the land, agriculture, and local heritage. Stopping at the beautiful black sand beach in Layou was the perfect ending to the adventure. The contrast of the dark volcanic sand against the blue water was incredible and made for amazing photos and a relaxing break after the ride. Overall, this was an exciting, scenic, and educational experience all in one. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Layou and wanting to explore the island in a fun and unforgettable way.
