Join us in a cooking experience to learn how to cook a traditional African cuisine meal from start to finish. Enjoy your meal privately with family, friends, work colleagues and travelers from all over the world in a peaceful environment and experience African hospitality at its best. Be prepared to get your hands dirty as we show you step by step how to cook one of the best authentic African cuisine meals.

A welcome drink and a snack will be served at the dining table when you arrive in our home, along with an introduction to what's on the menu. You will be given an apron, a pen and a note and a slipper to put on. The hands-on cooking class will be held in the home kitchen. Your host will explain all the ingredients involved, the story behind the dish, and, of course, provide clear step-by-step instructions. You can choose between the Indonesian or Cape Malay menus as stated. Please make sure to indicate which menu you prefer beforehand. Your hands-on cooking class will last about two hours, and then you will sit down in the dining room to enjoy the meals you and your host have prepared together.

In this hands-on demonstration, we'll teach you the basics of making your own biltong sticks - how to select your meat, cut, marinade, season, cure, and store it. We offer vegans a surprisingly good alternative and bet you'll become addicted, too! Find out how an English 'Soutie' like me married an Afrikaans 'Boeremeisie' and how we combine our distinct and different cultures. Learn about the origin of the Afrikaans language (the only European language born in Africa!) We'll teach you a few expressions over a strong 'moerkoffie' served in a tin mug along with a piece of Soutie's homemade Karringmelkbeskuit. We create a fun, relaxed atmosphere with Boeremusiek (folk music) and some catchy Afrikaans songs to showcase our rainbow nation's authentic, warmhearted hospitality.
