Top Vancouver Cooking Classes

There is something almost meditative about making pasta by hand. The mixing, the kneading, the rolling, the cutting. And then you finish it in a sauce you also made from scratch and suddenly the whole thing just clicks. In this relaxed, beginner-friendly class Chef Hamzeh walks you through making proper fettuccine from flour, eggs, semolina and olive oil before letting you take the wheel on the sauce. Go for a bright, herb-forward tomato sauce with basil, garlic and thyme, or a deeply comforting white sauce with cream, butter and Grana Padano. Either way you are eating something genuinely homemade at the end of it, which in Vancouver is always a good call. Simple ingredients, timeless technique and a meal that will make you wonder why you ever bought pasta from a box.

Sushi looks impressive on the plate. The secret is that it is also genuinely fun to make. Chef Hamzeh is going to prove it, and make it one of the better evenings Vancouver has thrown at you lately. In this laid-back, hands-on class you will learn to roll two classics from scratch. A California roll loaded with avocado, cucumber, crab and cream cheese wrapped in nori, and a fresh veggie roll with carrots, avocado, cucumber and cream cheese that is as vibrant as it is delicious. Chef Hamzeh walks you through every step, from seasoning your rice correctly to rolling tightly and cutting clean, even pieces that hold together all the way to the dipping sauce. The setting is casual, the crowd is fun and by the end of class you will already be thinking about whose dinner party you are going to debut these at first.

This experience is led by a professional chef and Registered Dietitian at The Skript Kitchen, combining authentic techniques with a fun, social atmosphere.
