Fabulous views. Trek up...
Fabulous views. Trek up to the glacier wasn't too difficult. Trek down was hard on my knees. Fabulous guides!!!!

Somewhat challenging hike, but the view from the end of the trail is worth the view
Pick up was very smooth. Upon arrival to the Fin del Mundo Park, our guide Sonia gave us hiking poles, crampons and our lunch. The hike up to “Mirador de Los Cóndores” was somewhat challenging because of the steep slope, but Sonia made sure that we did it at a comfortable pace. We were rewarded by a magnificent view from the top. Highly recommended.

Great hike and guiding company in Ushuaia if you have limited time.
I was in Ushuaia only for 1 day, as it was a port day of a cruise. Pick-up was straightforward, trail conditions were great, no issue with pace. Personally, I'd say this was a light-moderate hike. Lots of families could be seen on the trail, out for the day, with young teenagers. If you needed more time to catch your breath, no problem. Our guide Lio was knowledgeable, good company, and lugged up hot water and a a foam cushion for a pleasant lunch at the top 😀. The packed lunch was good, and better than when I pack my own hiking lunch. I'm an avid hiker at home, but I only had a few hours for the hike due to my personal schedule. I would have liked to do a different hike, but I didn't have the time to make it work. If you are in a similar situation while in Ushuaia, I'd recommend this hike and this company, no regrets at all.

Martial Glacier
  • Hiking to the mountaintop takes around three hours return; a popular option is to ride the chair lift to the top and then hike back down.
  • Maps of Ushuaia’s hiking trails are available from the Tourist Information Center in Ushuaia but the trail to the Martial Glacier is easy to follow without a guide.
  • There is a small ski station, café, and restaurant at the chair-lift station but there are no facilities on the mountaintop, so bring everything you need with you.
  • The weather can change quickly in Patagonia so wrap up warm, even in the summer.
