Les Orgues is a unique site in France, a landscape of "fairy chimneys" possessing a fragile, ephemeral beauty. It exposes cliffs of sand and clay—patiently carved by the rain—to the elements. On a hillside, explore Eus, one of the most beautiful villages (the sunniest in France) Nestled between the Conflent valley and Mount Canigou, Eus features facades that cascade in terraces down to the warm Catalan sun, which nurtures the village's lush vegetation. This former defensive stronghold had to repel the French in the 16th century and the Spanish army in the 18th century. Finish the tour by admiring the beautiful alter piece of Prades. At the time of the French Revolution, Prades received the magnificent Saint-Benoît altarpiece, entirely gilded with leaf, as well as the entire reliquary from Saint Michel de Cuxa.
