Review of tour

Need some local currency especially for the temple transportation, they only take local currency. Guide doesn’t always accompany you. Air condition car is nice.

Great day out

A great day, thoroughly enjoyed it. Our driver was very friendly and explained everything, was very knowledgeable, pointing out lots of different things as we drove around. We were never rushed which was good, plenty of time to see what we needed to see. Accidentally left the hotel key in the car and phoned him and he came back immediately, great service.

He was a great tour guide promt on arrival and very knowledgeable, I would have given him 5 stars but just because some of his English i found hard to understand

Penang Hill, temples and lunch

Our tour guide Ronnie was very good. We didn't want to walk too much so he always went back to get the car to pick us up again. We saw some really lovely temples but to be honest it was too many temples for us. Perhaps fitting in something else or shortening the tour would work better.

Great tour. We enjoyed it very much

We enjoyed the tour. The driver Vijay was very friendly and knowledgeable. He followed the itinerary and allowed us plenty of time to take pictures etc. The vehicle was fully airconditioned and neat. The driver also let us use his power bank when our phone battery was low. We recommend the tour and the driver Vijay to others.

Night up Penang hill.

Three hours is not long enough to enjoy this tour, luckily our driver was happy to give us another hour, which made the experience much more enjoyable. Fast track tickets for the train worked well, but with no vouchers for David Browns restaurant we had to tell them we had paid in advance. However with that sorted the food and service was extremely good. Views from the top were amazing.

Expensive, but great day. No scope to rearrange if not well on day.

Zainul was an excellent guide and driver. He was chatty, explained everything and made sure I was happy at all times. I would thoroughly recommend him as a driver or tour guide in Penang. However, the trip was very expensive compared to other similar trips we did. My husband wasn't well on the day and we asked to possibly reschedule it for the next day, but it was a definite no. That was a real shame as it was pre-paid, so I did the trip on my own. Overall a lovely day, but some more understanding from Viator would have been nice.

The term “Penang Hill” refers to a number of hills. Wear good walking shoes.
Aim to sit at the lower end of the train for the best views.
Train carriages are air-conditioned.
Temperatures on Penang Hill can be 9°F (5°C) cooler than in George Town; you may want to bring a light layer if heading up the hill in the evening.
