I had loads of fun - this tour was well organized and I enjoyed all the little spots we stopped along the way like the two waterfalls and the little trek we made - it was actually a lot more fun and rewarding than the actual old faithful, because that was really just to see it shoot up to the air and it wasn’t even that obvious due to it snowing and everything just blending altogether. It is a rather long ride and I started to feel sleepy while riding on the way back, so definitely make sure you are ready and awake for this! I know there are some comments about the speed; I will say that you can choose to do what you want to do, but at some points going a little faster helped us get to the destination more quickly given that it’s such a long drive. If you don’t find yourself being comfortable being on the snowmobile for so long or for too fast, then this isn’t for you. But if you’re up for the adventure, this pays off. What would have tipped this over the edge is if we also got to squeeze in the Grand Prismatic Spring so hope this can be a consideration in future!

An adventurous snowmobile experience that takes you to discover places with incredible views and offers the opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitat.

Such a great experience! Our guide, Kolton did a great job leading us to beautiful sights and keeping us safe along the way. He was fun & knowledgeable. We plan to do this again with our adult children next year.

It is a long day but definitely worth it. Some of the most beautiful scenery that includes numerous geysers, waterfalls, and we were lucky enough to see Buffalo. Our guide Jeff was amazing and answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable on the park, wildlife, etc…

this experience is definitely something everyone should try. but there are some things that i wish were different. the trip felt kind of rushed we didn’t really get to enjoy some of the views because our tour guide was too worried about staying in front of the bigger groups. for instance we saw bison closer to the trail that would have made a great picture and our guide kept driving right on by and we were told not to stop unless he did. there was a waterfall that we had stopped at and we were told to leave our helmets on grab a picture and get back on our snowmobiles to beat the bigger group yet again. i over heard our guide talking to a park ranger at one of the warming centers that we stopped at on our ride and his exact words were “when we get to old faithful the minute that thing blows we are getting the hell out of there” i don’t think these guides think about how many people that they are guiding have never seen these attractions and views and may never see them again. it was really frustrating that our entire trip felt like it was based on how fast our guide could get home for dinner. especially when you pay $1000 for the trip. i’m happy i was able to see yellowstone and old faithful but im very dissatisfied about how our trip was go go go and not being able to soak up anything we saw. these people need to do better

Eric was great and explained things well.
Good snowmobiling ride and scenery. Never felt too busy at stops
Simple box lunch sitting on snowmobile felt cheap. Wasn’t there somewhere else to sit?
More info up front about helmet, snowmobile suit and especially boots being provided would have helped.
Sitting through long gas line at end was annoying.

Snowmobiling in Yellowstone for the first time in the winter on a gorgeous sunny day was an experience my wife and I will never forget.
Anthony was a great guide who really took care of us. He and Scenic Safaris provided everything we needed to have a comfortable trip. It wasn’t too cold when we went (in the 30’s F) but I recommend wearing a winter jacket, layers, and comfortable pants under the suit they provide to stay warm. You don’t need to bring a balaclava because the full helmet they provided kept me warm. A gaiter would be a good idea though. Scenic Safaris also provides boots but you should wear A warm pair of socks.

It was amazing. Everything I’d hoped for. The terrain was beautiful. The snow was beautiful. Our guide was amazing! Very knowledgeable. Jack, who is our guide made sure everyone is OK throughout the entire trip.

We had the best time. Eric was a great guide. Very knowledgeable of all the places we stopped. We travelled about 102 miles on the snowmobile round trip. We were not as prepared as we should have been for the freezing temperatures. Definitely make sure you have plenty of hot hands and toe warmers, good gloves and warm layers. Also make sure you have a balaclava that comes down and protects your neck from the cold. The place where you are fitted for your gear has a little store that you can buy these things at but it is more expensive so I would go prepared.

Scenic Safaris’ Old Faithful snowmobile tour was absolutely outstanding and easily one of the highlights of our Yellowstone trip. From start to finish, everything was professional, well-organized, and unforgettable.
Our guide, Bobby, was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about Yellowstone. Bobby made sure everyone felt safe and confident on the snowmobiles while sharing fascinating insights about the park’s wildlife, geology, and winter conditions. His leadership and easygoing attitude made the experience even better.
The snowmobiles were in excellent condition and easy to operate. Riding through Yellowstone’s snow-covered landscape was breathtaking, and seeing wildlife along the way was an added bonus. Arriving at Old Faithful by snowmobile and watching it erupt in the quiet of winter was truly surreal.
If you’re visiting Yellowstone in winter, this tour is a must-do. Scenic Safaris—and especially Bobby—deliver a five-star experience all around. Highly recommend!

This is a great trip for snowmobiling. The guide Fritz was very helpful and did his best to make my experience outstanding.
The guide gives you basics on how to drive the snowmobile but you need to be careful yourself. If this is your first time, go slow when you are uncomfortable. You will catch up with the group.
The main attraction was old faith but we could not make it in time to old faithful to see the eruption. It takes places in intervals of 1.5 hrs. We had to take a break to fix an issue with a snowmobile but our guide resolved it in sometime ensuring we continue with the adventure.
Again I say please go with the mindset of snowmobiling in winters at Yellowstone. The scenary is amazing. Dress well with multiple layers. If you plan to carry some snacks please take a small bag pack with you. I recommend this trip!!!

I was skeptical when I booked the tour for my husband and I, but we're so glad we did it. The experience was awesome! I had follow-up questions after booking the trip and reached out via email and the response was quick and informative; which I appreciate. They called a day prior to confirm details and picked us up from our resort, a light breakfast and lunch were provided. Our tour guide was amazing! He was super kind, funny and extremely patient. Despite a few hiccups early on due to a couple of riders he remained patient and kind with them while still acknowledging the the rest of us and how the hiccups effected our experience. We didn't see any wild life which made me sad. Overall 10/10 experience and staff.

Claude was a very energetic fantastic guide with lots of knowledge of the area, animals and history.

I did this tour with my 18-yo daughter and 14-yo son. She had her own snowmobile and my son rode with me. We had an amazing time. Fitz was a great guide and timed the tour perfectly for Old Faithful's eruption. We explored other volcanic pits around the area and managed to see wildlife like bison and fox. Older people might be uncomfortable driving the snowmobiles at higher speeds and someone in our group gave up and hitchhiked with a family member, so keep that in mind when you book. I was a little concerned about the weather and we had snow in our tour, but it actually created a nice ambience. I don't feel like the tour was any worse because of the snow. I highly recommend this tour, if you're up to driving a snowmobile for about 50 miles each way. I personally enjoyed it a lot!

It was beautiful to see Yellowstone in the winter without any crowds. Bobby was a very informative and kind guide, he made the snowmobile experience very easy and enjoyable.

This trip was a complete disaster, thanks to the reckless and irresponsible guide (Aaron). We paid $1,000, woke up at 5 AM for a day ruined by stress and danger. We had the worst snowstorm that day, yet the guide forced us to speed through it at over 50 mph—double the 25 mph speed limit—ignoring safety and leaving everyone terrified. He ignored people who fell behind, didn’t notice when someone veered off the road (it took another group’s guide to help), and pushed us to race forward without breaks. We had to choose between getting lost and stranded in a raging snowstorm and blindly charging ahead despite fogged windshields, poor visibility, and stormy wind.
No one could enjoy the views because we were too busy clinging to our snowmobiles, trying to survive. When we finally stopped, an 82-year-old woman, who had struggled the entire way, asked to take the shuttle on the way back. The guide demanded $200 for the shuttle (a lie) and blamed her for not stopping 35 miles earlier, even though he never gave anyone the chance in the past 35 miles. Over lunch—barely edible chips and a dry sandwich—everyone agreed the speed and conditions were dangerous, and several people didn’t feel comfortable continuing. Yet on the way back, he kept racing ahead despite worsening conditions, and two more snowmobiles in our group flipped and crashed. He didn’t even notice because he was so far ahead.
The trip itself was pointless: we risked our lives terrified for hours just for two minutes of a geyser eruption, and the guide’s claim that “the faster we go, the more we see” was absurd because there was nothing more to see. His disregard for safety made it impossible to see or enjoy anything. This guide showed no care or professionalism. He endangered lives, ignored team members in distress, and treated the trip like his personal race competition.
I saw the host’s replies to other one-star reviews, dismissing concerns about speed by claiming the speedometer is inaccurate and that breaking the speed limit is common to “make it on time.” It’s clear this isn’t just about our guide—it’s the entire business. If this company requires breaking traffic laws and risking lives to stay on schedule, the trip shouldn’t exist. No 82-year-old—or anyone—should have to endure this chaos, let alone be lied to about needing to pay $200 just to stop driving dangerously. Avoid this company at all costs.

Ree was AMAZING! She took it short and slow in the beginning to make sure everyone was comfortable with the snowmobile. She was knowledgeable about the history everywhere we stopped. We were really worried about being cold on the trip. With all the gear they provided, we were plenty warm all day. On the way back, we were shedding layers. Definitely wear layers so you can adjust.

The whole experience was truly amazing and we had the best tour guide. Bree was amazing and we had an amazing group. We saw wildlife, waterfalls, old faithful, and so much more…

Omg this was amazing! Eric was our guide, and he was amazing and had some great stories. Highly recommend him!! HIGHLY! He saw some people were uncomfortable on the snowmobiles which he was very patient with also he made sure our group stayed together. It’s a long trip so I would suggest packing some snacks and get breakfast before the guide picks you up. Make sure to layer up with thermal socks, under garments, and bring a small bag with an extra battery charger! The snowmobiles have a small storage in the front that you can place a small wallet and two water bottles! If you have a double sled and riding with another partner in the back make sure their hand warmer handles are on or else they will be freezing. After your guide picks you up from the hotel it’s about an hour and a half ride back. So make sure to use the bathroom before hand. The tour says to bring goggles but the helmets have a visor and your goggles or sunglasses will fog up, I recommend just using the helmet with the visor. Don’t buy unnecessary items. Just make sure your gloves are ACTUAL snow gloves like the snowboarding snow gloves and I would recommend getting the smart touch ones so that way you can use your phone. The lunch if you’re curious, they do call ahead to see if you have any allergies and restrictions to accommodate for you, but my partner and I we didn’t, everyone in our group didn’t. What the lunch included was a small sub sandwich, with chips, a chocolate chip cookie, apple if you want and a bottle of water. He did bring a pb&j sandwich for anyone who didn’t want a regular sub. So like I said bring snacks. And extra water bottles so you don’t have to buy at the convenience store where you suit up for the gear. They’re a little pricy.

What a fun day. The highlight of our trip. Molly, our tour guide, was incredible. She was so friendly all day long. Two of us were first-time drivers of snow mobiles, and Molly’s careful instructions gave us confidence! For other potential first-time drivers, don’t be afraid to do this trip. Molly led us to beautiful remote areas that felt like a step back in time to the past. Beautiful scenery and famous landmarks!

Absolutely stunning scenery that you will be raving about forever! Do not miss this opportunity to see the rawness and beauty of nature in Yellowstone at winter! The snowmobiles are so much fun, and the guides are experts.

The tour was very scenic with the ground and trees covered in snow. It was cool to see Old Faithful erupt in the Winter weather. We ended up covering around 100 miles. I would highly recommend this tour for a fun adventurous trip.
