Excellent introduction to the lake district - taking you off on the little roads that service buses cannot travel. Tim was a great driver and a very interesting guide - we had a wonderful afternoon.

This is a terrific guided scenic drive with stops. Small size which is great for getting places larger tours can’t go. Steve our guide was personable and knowledgeable. He put up with our questions! We lived that we could relax and enjoy the scenery without deciding go where to go and why! Surprise Lookout and Gingerbread were my favorite stops.

It was an excellent overall introduction to the Lake District. Tim, our guide and driver, did an outstanding job. His narrative on the Lake District was interesting and informative with a sense of humour thrown in. He was a very good driver and was polite and considerate to all his passengers.

A really nice experience with a few sweet ladies to take us around. I really loved seeing everything. My only comment that could be negative is the bus was VERY crowded. We could barely fit in the back with our long legs and then couldn't see out of the window for every passby. I would highly recommend reducing the tour number to allow everyone to have a window or do a different bus with a bit more room. Maybe just a four seater with four chairs.

Highly recommend Tim and this tour company for a worthwhile, in-depth overview of the Lake District!
We did this tour on our first day in the area, which was a fantastic way to get introduced to the Lake District and see a whole lot in a short time. Tim cheerfully provided all sorts of background, history and detail as we drove past many lakes and through scenic towns. We stopped frequently and - despite covering a lot in only half a day - we did not feel that we were stuck in the car the whole time by any means.
It may sound funny, but this was sortof like a city 'hop on hop off bus' experience (in the very nicest way) but for the countryside of the Lake District, in that you really cover a lot of ground and learn context of the area up front, so you feel you've got a good overview and can go back later on your own to explore specific spots in more detail (which is what we did, like Rydal Water, Grasmere and Keswick for some examples). Or if you don't get back to a spot, at least you've seen it and know it's there (like Castlerigge stone circle, for example).
We were also lucky in that it was a little bit before the Season (early April), and we had the tour and Tim to ourselves .That said, the van size would keep the group to a small number and it would have been equally pleasant to have others in our group.

I recently took the 8 Lakes and magnificent sceneries afternoon tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking panoramic views alone are worth the trip, providing postcard-perfect moments at every turn. The incredibly knowledgeable guide, whose passion for the area made history come alive. Unfortunately, I forgot to note the name of the guide, but he was outstanding—engaging, insightful, and able to answer every question with ease.
This tour is perfect for everyone. The trip was worth every penny, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of history of the Lake District and the scenic beauty, and entertainment.

The beauty of the Lake District never disappoints, no matter the season, even on a rainy day but despite that Gillian was very informative and the group interactive, so I learnt a lot and enjoyed the history, local stories and legends. It was a 'driving tour' with 4 hours on the bus, alighting briefly at a few placesSandra drove very well and we felt safe at all times. I would highly recommend this tour.

Even though we had a rainy day, we saw beautiful views and charming towns in our tour of the Lake District. Tim was an excellent, knowledgeable guide! We loved that there were only six passengers in the group, making it easy to stop at various places and ask questions.

Fabulous tour through the Lake District. I highly recommend it as the first thing to do. Tim was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. The itinerary stipulated a boat tour on Ullswater, but we were told that was part of another tour or in a different season (I don’t remember). Double-check upon starting the tour.

Our guide Steve was fantastic. The 3 hours in his company, with his excellent commentary, just flew past. He was knowledgeable, humorous & helpful.
It was only at the end that I told him I had been a Trafalgar Tour Manager & so could really gauge how excellent he was. I loved every minute of retracing lovely places.

Our guide Tim was a skilled driver and was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also showed us one of Beatrix Potter's properties that was used as a filming location! It was a beautiful sunny day out on our trip and the views were amazing.
