Great laid back tour with a little of everything. Loved the beach break stop where you could choose to go in the ocean or sit at shaded tables with food and drink.

"Limpy" our driver was fantastic! He was able to accommodate our trip as preferred by our group and tailored it perfectly. It should be updated soon, but please note that there is no perfume factory as it stopped production after the hurricane. The description had it listed as part of the tour still. My girls were bummed but our driver did an excellent job accommodating. Thank you Limpy! If you're ever in Alaska, come visit us!

The driver, Denise, was very nice, but arrive in an old, beat up van and she talked so fast it was hard to understand her.
The area she drove us thru near the ship was very depressed with abandoned homes, trash piles with old tires and overgrown weeds.
She later drove us by million dollar homes which were obviously not owned by local residents!
This was a very disappointing tour and not worth the time or cost.

Did you enjoyed the beach or restaurant stop?

Had Charlie who was very knowledgeable about the island! Learned so many fascinating facts! Even went out of his way to take me to an additional location nearby so I could get my friend a souvenir!! Went in this tour with my parents who also thoroughly enjoyed it!

This was an amazing tour. I took this with my mom, husband and two kids. My kids (8) and (10) loved it as well. This tour was so informative and we got to see the different economic areas (low, middle and upper class). We got to keep a conch shell and try conch fritters. At the end we spent a few hours at a private beach. The tour van was air conditioned. I would suggest to bring beach wear to enjoy the water! The tour guide was amazing. I wish I remembered the name of tour guide. He was amazing and answered all of our questions.

Great for older folks who do not want strenuous adventure. Charlie drove us around and was an awesome tour guide. He shared so much knowledge about the island as we passed by all the sites from the van. We stopped and relaxed and Cleveland beach and had lunch. We stopped at a famous bakery and got coconut tart which was homemade by the locals. Bring cash in case you chose to support the local community with souvenir purchases. Charlie allowed us to hit a few stores after the standard tour time to stock up on some food and drinks for our room before dropping us back... he went above and beyond. The free conch fritters were sooo good! I would book this again and recommend this tour to all!

Overall, we had a really great time! It was a bit different than what we expected. We had a wonderful driver who was name Bradshaw who made the whole experience fantastic. They take you around the island and show you different things that you can do. As well as educate you on the history of the island. We recommend doing this tour early in your trip, so if he shows you something that interests you that you are able to do it before you leave. He also took us to a fresh fruit market and the Lucaya marketplace.

Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable of the island, and places. He took us to a small shopping area where we tried Conc Fritters very delicious, then we went to a beach where you could swim with the pigs if you wanted. The water was perfectly cool, considering the temp was 91 with a heat index of 108.

Glad you enjoyed 😉 What would have made the tour 5 stars ?

Charlie was fantastic. It was just my husband and I for the tour. His knowledge of the island was amazing. Seeing the local neighborhoods and learning of the ways of life was interesting. I loved the little beach and bar/restaurant that we stopped at.
My only regret was not bringing my bathing suit along to take a dip in the beautiful water.

This tour was just okay. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. There was a mix up with my tour. I didn’t get to see the light house or the fisher’s man area to see the live conk. We didn’t have time to go fruit market to sample the fruit because we had to head back to the cruise terminal. The cruise ship doesn’t allow you bring food back to ship so of course we couldn’t buy any fruit.
The only part of the tour I did enjoy was going to the Banana Beach club. The beach was fantastic. Great food & beautiful relaxing beach. I wish I would’ve just took a cab from the cruise port & just stayed at the Banana Bay Beach club all day. The worst part of the tour was going to Lucayan Market place. Some of the locals were rude if you didn’t buy anything.
My suggestions for a better tour would be to have a tour guide who is more upbeat & friendly. Our tour guide was nice but he was a bit monotone & boring. Maybe he was having a bad day because based on the other reviews he was great with others.

We absolutely loved this tour. Irene took us around the island introducing us not only to the Lucaya Marketplace and the beach but also to the culture of the island. Learning about the different areas of Grand Bahama Island, their government and history was exactly what we were looking for. And then to end the trip at Banana Bay with conch fritters was the best way to top it off. Definitely try the Guava Daquiri!

Our 3 generation party ranging from 81 to 23 years old all really enjoyed this tour. This included seeing and learning about several local villages, a 300 year old light house, and visiting a rocky beach strewn with shells left by conch fishermen (free souvenirs!). We also got a glimpse of how the wealthiest 1% live, primarily celebrities with vacation homes. We learned of past and present primary industries and economic drivers in the Bahamas. Tourism is actually relatively new. We ate conch fritters and had delicious tropical drinks. We enjoyed a short stop at beautiful Taino Beach. We passed on getting the fresh conch salad there, but I suggest others eat a light breakfast in order to enjoy that local specialty. There were 4-5 stops where we got out and looked around, and most had restrooms that were clean.
Charlie, our tour guide, was wonderful and answered all our questions. He's been doing this for more than 35 years, so there's no stumping him! The only slight constructive criticism would be to skip the straw market near the end of the tour since we'd already been to another souvenir market earlier on the tour. Kudos to Charlie though for helping the local economies around the island. The vendors are chill; no pressure about sales as experienced in other places in the Caribbean. This is a 2 thumbs up and 5 star tour, and a great value for the price. I recommend it without any hesitation.

We were nearly an hour late in leaving waiting for a person who never showed up. This made us late in getting back to the ship for one of our planned activities. The van was less than new. Shock absorbers were non-existent. Clean but not new. A/C worked the microphone did not making it difficult to hear. Our guide was very informative and courteous. The places we went were interesting and we did see what there was of Freeport which is not much. Our group was fun.

Bradshaw gave us a wonderful tour around the island. He answered all the questions we asked with nuance, humor, and detail. We enjoyed being able to see beyond the typical tourist paths and learning more about island culture. Conch fritters were not our cup of tea, but it was still neat to try them! Ride was comfortable and he graciously agreed to photos when we asked. Thanks for a great time!

Mr. Charlie is an excellent guide, we thoroughly enjoyed the history of the island, it was unfortunate that he tried to talk to us, the extra person just wouldn't let him explain everything, so we made the most of it. I would say that souvenirs are very expensive around the island be prepared and not surprised.

My cruise ship diverted us to Freeport due to Hurricane Phillippe. I booked this last minute excursion and it was awesome.
Our tour guide Charlie was very attentive and knowledgeable. He showed us the island from a naive point of view and it was great.
We took us to a private beach to e joy the water and local food and ended the tour at the Marketplace where we enjoyed the couch salad.
Thanks for your patience and allowing us to share your amazing island at short notice.

Charlie was a wonderful tour guide. He was full of knowledge about the area and all on the Bahamas. He took the time to get to know us and had no problem answering questions no matter how random they were. It was a pleasure to spend out time exploring the area with him. In this experience we went to a fruit/souvenir market, stopped at Taino Beach (2 hr endeavor), and visited Port Lucaya Marketplace.

Bradshaw was great. He showed us many places and told us a lot of stories about these places. We really enjoyed the tour and even made an arrangement for him to take us to the Fish Fry the next night. This is a great way to go beyond the resort experience if you don't rent a car.

Booked this tour while on the Margaritaville Cruise ship in place of any of the cruise sponsored excursions and I'm very glad I did. Firstly, we aren't really resort people, and if I'm in a foreign country I want to experience a bit of it from a local perspective. (I didn't pick the tour for this reason, but I did just realize that it was cheaper than any of the day excursions offered by the cruise.) About half the tour was at a lovely quiet beach restaurant which was just about perfect place to unwind and swim which was a lovely break from the cruise ship crowds. There was also some local shopping with piping hot delicious complimentary conch fritters. The tour doesn't follow a too rigid a time schedule, as we even diverted to once a month pop-up Saturday market for locals. This tour could work for most people, as it doesn't involve much walking or any inclines, for example, my mom has a bad back and Charlie was very accommodating. The day was very stress free as he was waiting right at the port cruise exit when we got off the boat at 8:45 am, and dropped us off well before (but not too early... it was about 1:30.) for our boat's 4:30pm departure. I cannot speak highly enough of this tour, as despite the very short time on the island, I feel like I really did get a good sampling. It was literally the highlight of a 4 day trip!
