Please note: Due to narrow roads, vehicles are not allowed in Ram Mandir ,Hanuman Garhi ,Dashrath Mahal and Kanak Bhawan. Therefore, our vehicles will be parked at a designated parking area, and we will be completing the tour by foot. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended.

A dream turned into a nightmare by the Trip Advisor tour operator who should have actually made the dream come alive.
Our trip was scheduled for March 4 and as we were arriving in Ayodhya mid morning and catching the evening train to Varanasi, we had less time than stipulated for the one day trip by Viator. We made this clear to the lady we spoke to on the phone and since we were willing to play the full amount she said the tour operator in Ayodhya would get back to us and plan the itinerary accordingly.
That is where the trouble began.
The tour operator, Sachin Pathak, if that is his name as it appeared on the WhatsApp but he never gave it to us, never called and when I called he was very nonchalant and said he would get back to us with the programme. No need to mention that he didn’t do that either.
We landed in Ayodhya to be met by a driver in a dilapidated car with no backseat seatbelts who had no clue where to go. When we complained about this, he threatened to leave us on the road and go off.
Calling the tour operator did not help as he also yelled at us and said we were being unreasonable. About what? Asking for a tour we had paid for?
Then when we asked about a guide we were told that there is no guide. I mentioned that in the ticket issued it said there was a guide and I was informed that the driver would be the guide. The driver had no clue so took us to a place around 5 kms away from the Mandir and we were made to travel by a tuk tuk whose driver became our guide. We spent more time on the tuk tuk than in the car.
On the way back we had time so asked the taxi driver to take us to a ghat mentioned in the tour and he said the station was half hour away so we would not be able to make it. He dropped us in 10 minutes and took off. So we basically saw two places.
We paid almost Rs. 11000 for this? If we had hired a cab we would have paid quarter of the price and got much better service.
We used a company in Goa in December and there was a full fledged guide with the driver who had sent us the full itinerary beforehand.
After this experience there is no way I am going to use your company again or recommend it to anyone.
It would help if the company was keeping tabs on what the operators they have hired are actually doing. Their cavalier attitude can only harm the reputation of the company.
The problem is that there seems to be no accountability and as long as your foreign tourists are happy, your operators feel all is well and the same attitude is reflected by you company personnel.
There is no way someone who is as rude as this operator can be allowed to serve in the tourist trade. According to the driver he was doing this as a favour to the operator and this was not his regular job which means he does not even have cars at his disposal. But your company is still keeping him on.
No communication with the customer, no itinerary planned or sent, no guide, rude and obnoxious behaviour and threats to throw us out of the car and a complete waste of the huge amount charged are the memories we have of this nightmare of a tour.
I would like to tell all prospective clients that go with someone who is personally dealing with you and not with such an impersonal organisation.
