Journey into the heart of Kurobe Gorge, where Japan's untouched landscapes and the wisdom of generations come together. Board the nostalgic torokko train, originally built to support hydroelectric development in this remote mountain region. As the train winds along steep cliffs and crosses bridges high above emerald rivers, imagine the determination of those who carved a railway through these rugged mountains. Blanketed by deep snow in winter, the gorge becomes inaccessible by train for months each year, preserving its quiet, secluded character. At Keyakidaira, surrounded by towering mountains, discover the powerful beauty of nature and the history of those who ventured into this wilderness. More than a scenic railway ride, this journey invites you to experience the timeless landscapes, human ingenuity, and enduring spirit of rural Japan.
