Top Sylhet How to Get Around in 2026

Approved by the Bangladesh Tourism Board, Charubala Homestay offers a personal experience of rural Bangladesh. In Juri, village life unfolds through shared meals, farming, tea gardens and neighbourly greetings. Our 11-member Hindu joint family welcomes you for four days and three nights, treating you as one of our own. Ride a traditional pedal van along village lanes, enjoy food from our kitchen and spend time in tea-garden settlements and with Indigenous Manipuri and Khasi communities. Discover Manipuri traditions and visit a Khasi village, where family lineage and inheritance traditionally pass through women. Walk through the Patharia Hills, feel the mist at Madhabkunda Waterfall and, when conditions allow, cross Hakaluki Haor by wooden boat. Accommodation is in our simple family home rather than a hotel. Local guides, drivers, cooks and community hosts take part, so your stay supports the people who shape the experience.

Sylhet is known as the spiritual heart of Bangladesh—a place shaped by faith, rivers, old neighbourhoods, tea gardens and warm local communities. If you have one day in Sylhet and want to experience more than its famous sights, this private journey brings the city’s stories, people and flavours together. Begin at the sacred shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal, walk across historic Keane Bridge beside the Surma River and feel the energy of local markets. Visit the city’s museums, hear the migration stories behind the name “Second London,” and explore Malnichhara, Bangladesh’s first commercial tea garden. The heart of the experience is sharing a traditional Manipuri meal with community hosts, learning about their living culture through respectful conversation and tasting familiar Sylheti flavours. With the personal care of a local host, this is more than sightseeing—it is a chance to understand Sylhet, connect with its people and carry home memories rooted in real life.

Sreemangal is famous for its tea gardens, which are spread out over miles and provide breathtaking views. Local accompanied guide will show you beautiful tea gardens and you can get to learn about how tea is grown. You will be offered guided hikes in the Tropical rain forest where you can enjoy the natural beauty and learn about the different wildlife species. Another highlight of this tour is the Lake of lotus, a serene body of water surrounded by lush greenery. Surrounded by rolling hills and forests, Madhabpur Lake is one of the most pristine lakes in Bangladesh. The crystal clear water of the lake reflects the greenery surrounding it, creating a magical sight, especially during the monsoon. Nature lovers, photographers, and adventure enthusiasts who appreciate tranquility, serenity, and natural beauty can spend hours admiring the lake's picturesque landscape.
