Passing the picturesque old adobe drying sheds, we arrive at the delightful farm of Cielo Verde for our wine tasting. Amazing

is a once in a lifetime experience! Expensive, yes but well worth every penny and well organized as well! For Argentinian citizens is much cheaper which unfortunately I learned the hard way and If this is the case much cheaper and better booking through the train company directly. The trip departs from Salta train station very early in the morning with picturesque stops along the way until you reach the departure point in the remote location of San Antonio de Los Cobres, an old mine town high in The Puna. At 12,385 feet at such thin air those, like me, not use to, highly recommend preparing your body well in advance or take portable oxygen tanks, however there’s a medical team onboard for any medical emergency. Make SURE to be physically prepared! The ride to the maximum point at La Polvorilla takes about 45 minutes each way where you can disembark to admire the beautiful view. Beware that vendors are on site selling all sorts of souvenirs! The onboard food options are remarkably good and overall service exceptional! A long but unforgettable day. Great experience!

Great way to see the beautiful scenery

We had such a great day seeing the red rocks around Cafayate. Majo was a great guide, giving us enough information to make it really interesting and although the stops were quick it was enough time to see everything. It’s a long day but on the drive you can see a lot of the beautiful scenery as well so it’s part of the beauty! The only bad thing was that the wine tour was only in Spanish with no English translation. We weren’t too bothered as we were really there for the scenery but that could be a problem for some!

Perfect Way to Experience Jujuy/Salta

If you only go on one tour out of Salta, this is the one I would recommend. It’s well-organized, packed full of beautiful stops, and Santiago is an amazing guide who’s passionate about what he does (his driver, Juan, is also super cool!). My favorite tour of the trip! Also, for English speakers, Santiago’s English is very good, so you won’t have to worry about missing out on anything.

Salta Excursions

I did the 4 excursions in 4 days from Salta for only $135. It was so worth it! If you rented a car and tried to duplicate the trip, you would be exhausted from the driving on the mountainous roads with hairpin curves. The drivers were excellent, explanations were good, also very good communication. There's more time on the bus than on the ground but you cover the best attractions in the Salta area. The landscape is spectacular! Highly recommend!
