You'll try a Montreal-style bagel, hand-rolled and honey-boiled before it meets the oven, steamed Himalayan dumplings from a family kitchen on Princess Street, a fried lentil doughnut sunk in South Indian sambar, extra virgin olive oil poured side by side with small-batch balsamic, and ice cream from a counter scooping since 1986. Then there's the stop we won't name until you're standing outside it. Your Secret Food Tours guide lives in Kingston, and knows which unassuming door hides the best cooking in town, why this city of 130,000 holds more Feast On certified restaurants than anywhere else in Ontario, and how a 19th-century market square still feeds the people who cook here.
